Benefits of Using a Face Primer

Primer

If you suffer from oily skin and acne, applying primer before the foundation is a necessity. Not only does primer contains waxes and polymers that provide a smooth canvas for flawless application, it also creates a bond between the skin and the foundation which helps the makeup to last all day without touch up or re-applying which is essential. The silica or silica type ingredient included in the primer also helps to control sheen.

Benefits of Using a Face Primer

Primers can help to reduce the look of large pores, filling in lines and preventing foundation from looking cakey. They also help with evening out the skin tone and making your makeup last much longer throughout the day. One of the main benefits of using a foundation makeup primer is that you will use less of your makeup. Instead of your foundation absorbing directly into your skin, the primer acts as a base, with the foundation adhering to the primer rather than the skin itself. With a primer reducing the imperfections of the skin’s surface, less product is required to cover those areas.

How to Use a Primer?

1.     Use a primer after applying moisturizer to the skin, then allow at least 5 minutes for the moisturizer to settle into the skin.
2.     Use a pea size amount of the primer and apply gently to the skin, paying attention to the t-zone section and under eye areas.  This will allow any under eye concealer to glide on smoothly.
3.     Then apply your concealer, foundation, or face powder as you normally would.
