They carry an important message or piece of information so that visitors or people passing by can take notice of it. They are engraved on wood to add a touch of class and aristocracy to it. Today, the signs have better finishing and a polished touch to it. They are crafted better and can be customized or pre-designed. So gifting a wooden sign is a great option.
Types of Signs- Shape and Timbers used in making
Wood Engraved Signs have become really popular gifting items today. They are extremely professional and sophisticated to look at and hence the demand for them has seen a steady elevation in the recent times. Mentioned below are some of the various kinds of signs engraved on wood, varying on the basis of their timber-kind and shapes:
·        Timber
1. Oak Wood Signs - Carved out on oak wood, these signs are durable and sturdy. They are mostly found outside estates and farms. Oak wood signs have a majestic and royal touch to them and can vary in texture or color.
2. Iroko Wood Signs - This timber is imported, all the way from West Africa. It somewhat resembles teak and is highly durable in nature. These are ideal for outdoor signs and do not need attending to.
3. Sapele Wood Signs - The reddish-brown hue of this timber makes it look strikingly similar to mahogany. It is rich and prominent in appearance. This timber is extremely long-lasting and is considered to be more durable than oak.
4. Chestnut Wood Signs - This timber has a high concentration of high tannin that makes this timber extremely durable and hard-wearing. It is the perfect replacement for oak.
5. Painted Oak Signs – With a whitewash over the oak board and engravings in black, the painted oak signs truly define aristocracy and superiority. With a fine finishing, these signs are by far one of the most preferred ones.

There are other timbers that are used in making wood engraved signs. The more common ones that are not mentioned above are opepe, sycamorem, douglas fir, cedar, ash, cherry, iroko and balau.
·        Shapes and uses
1. Elegant House Signs – These are made differently from others. They are made strictly according to the needs of a house sign. It is sure to make the receiver extremely elated.
2. Round or Oval Plaques and Signs – Steering away from the typical shape of house signs, these wooden engravings are sure to catch everyone’s attention at once.
3. Timber posts with Arms for Hanging Signs – Made from various kinds of wood, these posts can be up to 8 feet in height and can have an arm to hang a wooden sign from. Sheer class!
·        Custom Signage
There are custom design facilities as well. You can design them on your computer and get them done on wood as well. Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand are two common software used for this purpose. Choosing your router for engraving is important. Accuracy, price, stability and smoothness are factors that need to be considered. Too much jerking can ruin work. 1-1/2 horsepower is enough.
However, you can go for more. Painting can be a tricky job if you do not know what you are doing. Using high quality alkyd enamel is a good option. If you are painting directly on the raw wood, then a primer coat is needed and it is best if it is of the finish color. Today, wood engraved signs are sought-after by all. It is gorgeous and useful, and those are the two most important traits of the perfect gift. So, gift one today!

Beauty Is in the Beast

We often talk about how beauty is something that is delicate, dainty and aesthetically pleasing. However, the path you take to reach beauty is filled with trial and error, challenges and all manner of beastly things. Scrubbing your face and exfoliating is something we do on a regular basis just to keep our skin clear, but when you really break it down to what you’re actually doing, you’re furiously scrubbing away dead skin in order to make way for new cells.

There’s a certain beastly quality in all people who care about their appearance, whether they’re young, middle-aged, a senior or male or female. We have to pay attention to the beauty inside of us that is just waiting to burst out of your current shell, and in order to break that shell, we need to put in some elbow grease, money and a lot of time.

Microdermabrasion
This is a treatment that is used to improve the look of your skin. It’s usually done with a wire brush or a wheel that is used to remove layers of skin, much like exfoliation. However, the main difference is that microdermabrasion uses much rougher materials and often removes dead skin at an accelerated rate. If you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis, then you may need some sessions of microdermabrasion in order to clear up dead skin cells and rough patches on your skin. If you have certain skin conditions or very delicate skin, then you may want to reconsider microdermabrasion and stick to just a regular soft exfoliator to keep your skin clear.

Just remember that all types of skin need to be exfoliated at some point to keep it looking healthy and smooth. Exfoliation is already seen as quite harsh to some people, but if you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis then you may need to consider microdermabrasion in order to remove large amounts of skin to keep it clear and free of excess oils and impurities.

Facial Steaming
Another fairly harsh-sounding treatment is facial steaming. For clear skin you should check out these facial steaming devices that essentially blow hot steam into your face to help you clear clogged pores. It also helps to make your skin more comfortable when you apply other facial treatments and skincare products, meaning it’s the perfect addition to your existing skin care regime.

Furthermore, facial steaming enhances blood circulation in your face, improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin tissue and enhancing your appearance. It can also help remove toxins from your skin, much like when you sweat during a workout or in a hot bath. This helps to restore balance to your face and ultimately gives you a smooth and glowing complexion.

Exercising
One of the most rigorous things we can do for beauty is exercise. Aching muscles, sweating and heavy breathing are the three key signs that you’re giving yourself a workout that means something. Regardless of what age or body type you are, exercising will help you maintain a beauty and healthy body, but it has to be assisted with dieting.

As you can see, staying beautiful requires a lot of work and if you can awaken that inner “beast” inside of yourself that can get things done, then you’re going to achieve those beauty goals a little faster than if you remained delicate and patient with your regular beauty regimes.

Essential Items to Bring While Traveling

To avoid the nerve-wracking cycle of packing and unpacking that almost every trip away entails, it is helpful to be aware of the items that more experienced travelers consider are absolutely necessary for traveling. Ensure these items are at the top of your packing list.

11 Essential Items for Every Traveler

As much as every trip is different, here are the items you should always bring with you:

1.     Versatile Luggage

You will want to use luggage that is durable, lightweight and is large enough to carry all your essentials. Lugging around travel bags with broken handles or wheels is no picnic. Ensure you buy your luggage from trusted companies that provide warranties for their bags. Look at websites like Luggage Direct to have an idea of the many types of bags available and pick luggage that is versatile while meeting your particular needs.

2.     Travel Documents

When it comes to traveling, you can forget to bring all else except your travel documents. You can buy a travel document organizer to help you carry these documents in one place. You can carry some extra money in most document organizers as they have slots for coins, cash bills, and credit cards. For seamless international travel you will need:
  •        Your Passport and Visas
  •         Travel Tickets
  •         Loyalty Program Cards
  •         Hotel Reservations
  •         Emergency Contacts
  •         Cash and Credit Cards

Before you leave, check expiration dates for your passport, visas and credit cards, and make copies of all these important documents in case the originals get lost.  Many countries require that there be at least six months’ validity left on passports to permit entry.

3.     Travel Health Kit

Carry a travel health kit that contains any prescription meds that you are on, plus pain and fever relievers. Take medical notes from your doctor if you have any special health conditions and the prescriptions for the medications you will be carrying. Many countries require that you show these prescriptions if you are selected for a customs inspection on arrival. Remember that most countries do not accept prescriptions from overseas, and many medications have different brand names in different countries, so it is best that you include all that you need in your travel kit for the period that you will be away.

4.     A Day Pack

A small collapsible bag, which fits in your luggage, will come in handy for day trips once you are at your destination. You can use it to carry your gadgets, water bottles, guide books and folding umbrellas among other things you will need during an activity away from your hotel. It will also be useful for carrying any extras that you buy on your way back home.

5.     Flashlight

A lightweight LED torch is a necessity especially if you plan to do some camping, or venture into caves, or if there happens to be an electricity outage at your hotel. Carry a flashlight that has durable and rechargeable batteries.

6.     Universal Travel Adapter Plug

Until the world adopts a single AC power standard (which is probably unlikely), every traveler has to carry adapters to charge their devices. Get an all in one universal adapter or, if you are traveling to only one country, you can check what plug is used in the country you intend to travel to, and buy the cheaper single-type adapter for that country.

7.     Plastic Storage Bags

Plastic bags will be useful when you want to protect any of your items against moisture. You can also use them to carry damp clothes or to separate dirty clothes from clean ones. Clear zip-lock bags will help you keep your suitcase organized especially if you will be changing accommodation often which will require packing and unpacking several times.

8.     Ear Plugs

For sound sleep on your flight, quality ear plugs will help to drown out the aircraft sounds and any noisy passengers. You can purchase flight ear plugs that will help reduce the discomfort that comes with changes in air pressure during flights.

9.     Bungee Cord

A mini bungee cord will be helpful in case you damage a suitcase or a zipper gets broken. You can use it to hold your luggage together in an emergency. It can also be a makeshift clothesline if you want to hang wet clothes in your hotel bathroom.

10. All-Weather Shoes

Instead of carrying multiple pairs of shoes that will only add to your luggage weight, find a pair that is multi-purpose, durable and waterproof. Keep in mind the activities you will undertake at your destination as you choose which ones to carry. If one pair won’t work, limit yourself to two.

11. Some Pens

Bring a couple of cheap pens with you for filling out arrival forms and customs declarations at the airport. You will get through faster when you don’t have to wait for fellow passengers to finish using the ones provided.

One of the top tips for traveling is always packing light, but the more important advice is packing smart. The tips above will help you avoid the stress of worrying that you might have forgotten something. Remember too that anything you forget to bring – aside from your travel documents - you can buy at your destination. And try to put as many of these essential items in your carry-on. That way, you will have most of your essentials with you in case something happens to your checked-in luggage.

Them Boots Were Made For Walkin'

Them boots were made for walkin’

And that’s just what they’ll do.

So, they better be comfortable!
Everyone knows that new shoes, especially high heels, aren’t the comfiest footwear ever. But that doesn’t mean you need to be in pain every time you put them on.

Here are some life-saving hacks that can keep you walking without any pain and discomfort. You’ll be amazed at how well they work!

Stretch Leather With A Blow Dryer
One of the main reasons new shoes hurt so much is because the leather is brand new. It hasn’t been given the chance to stretch, so will be quite hard and will rub up against your feet. There is one really easy way to get around this, though - simply use your blow dryer to blow the leather for a few minutes! This will heat the leather up and give it a chance to stretch. It’s a good idea to wear the boots or shoes while you do this so the leather stretches around your feet.

Use Panty Liners In Your Shoes
Ok, so this may sound a bit bizarre, but trust me for a minute - this is a really great hack especially if you suffer from sweaty feet! We’ve all suffered from sweaty feet at some point.  Instead of wearing a regular insole in your shoes, you should slip in a panty liner. This is an especially good idea for shoes for small feet as you might not be able to find small enough insoles. Once you add the panty liner, you won’t have to worry about sweaty feet as it will absorb all the sweat!

Use Sandpaper To Add Grip
There is nothing more frustrating than realizing your shoes don’t offer you enough grip. Once winter is here, you will end up slipping and sliding on ice and snow! Thankfully, there is something you can do about this! You should take some sandpaper and use it to sand the sole of your shoe. This will add a lot more traction, so you don’t have to worry about falling over on smooth surfaces!

Use Baby Powder On Squeaky Shoes
Sometimes, new shoes can squeak quite a bit. Over time, this will stop as the leather becomes a lot more flexible. However, it can be very annoying! To stop it, though, you can sprinkle some baby powder onto the leather. This will prevent any friction when parts of leather rub together.

Use A Nail File On Suede
I know lots of girls who won’t buy suede shoes because they are so scared they will get them dirty, and they’ll be ruined. But there is a very easy way to remove stains on suede. And you don’t need special tools or materials to do so! If you rub your nail file on the stain, it will eventually lift off and you will have a clean shoe once again!

These hacks range from the weird to the wonderful, but one thing is for sure - they will certainly make your shoes look great and feel comfortable!

Step By Step Guide to Wash Your Hair Extensions

Want to know the simplest way to wash your hair extensions? Just check this step-by-step guide from the leading stylists and experts!

brushing the extensions

Step 1 – Brushing the Extensions
Before you get the extensions wet, it is essential to brush them properly and remove all the tangles. The best way to brush them is to begin from bottom to top. This will gently remove even the toughest of knots without shedding the hair.

Use a wide tooth brush with a soft bristle. You can use a ceramic wig or rubber tipped brush that allows convenient brushing of the extensions.

Step 2 – Preparing the Sink
Once you are sure that your sink is squeaky clean, fill it up with lukewarm water. Add one tablespoon of sulfate free and alcohol-free wig shampoo into the water and ensure that it gets dissolved completely. If your hair extensions are colored, then you must use the shampoo specifically designed to treat and prevent colored hair extensions.

Step 3 – Cleansing Each Weft
Split your set of hair extensions into small manageable groups to ensure that each weft is cleansed properly. Hold each weft group from the top and immerse it completely in the water. Gently stroke the shampoo into the extensions with your fingers. Set the extensions aside on a neat and clean towel, once the entire wefts are cleansed.

Step 4 – Rinse the Weft
Rinse each group of weft in the cold water two to three times or till the time when the entire shampoo is removed. A thorough rinsing is essential so that there are no remains of the shampoo left.

condition the extensions

Step 5 – Condition the Extensions
It is an extremely important step in the process of washing your hair extensions. Conditioning the hair extensions make sure that each weft is nourished and moisturized properly and remains soft and healthy. You can go for a regular conditioner or for a deep conditioner for hair treatment. Apply a generous amount of conditioner to each group from top to bottom.

Gently massage the product into the hair. Leave it for an hour and if it is possible to leave it overnight, then go for it. This will seal the moisture in the hair. After an hour, rinse the conditioner thoroughly from each strand with cold water. Make sure your hair extensions do not feel greasy at all.

Step 6 – Air Drying the Extensions
If you want healthy and lasting extensions, then let them dry naturally. Do not use any artificial means of drying your hair, which damages them and can result in shedding or damage of the weaves. If there is any urgency of using a blow dryer, then you must apply a heat protectant on each strand to prevent the damage. For naturally drying your hair, lay out each weft on a clean towel. If you do not want to experience any frizziness of the extensions, then you can apply a small quantity of hair oil to each strand. This will ensure that your hair extensions stay smooth and manageable.

Step 7 – Combing Each Weft
Wet hair extensions are prone to damage and can break easily. So, once the extensions have dried completely, it is time to brush through each strand or weft gently. For this, you must use a wide tooth comb with soft bristles. Comb the extensions from bottom to top.

Step 8 – Style and Wear Them
Once the process of washing is done, it is time to wear the extensions as usual. You can even wear them in order to create a new style, but still, keep the styling minimal to ensure that it does not lead to any damage of the extensions.

That’s it! Follow these easy steps to wash your hair extensions and offer them with a lasting and healthy look and texture.

How To Visually Expand Your Tiny Living Space

Regardless of the size of your home, you’ll probably find yourself thinking about more space at some point. In order to make your house look bigger and spacier, you’ll need a good action plan. The text below will provide you with some tips and guidelines which could come in handy when you decide to redesign your living space a bit.

room, white walls, tiny living space

Start with the colors of the walls

Your tiny living space will seem larger if the walls are painted with light colors. Use the shades of same color for the whole house because that will produce an effect of spaciness. Using the monochromatic color scheme will ease the eyes to slide through the room without being blocked by competing colors. Use a bright white to color window frames, baseboards and crown moldings. The other colors should be used just on artwork, pillows and such.

Avoid dark and heavy pieces of furniture

Make sure to use just those pieces that show their legs. A lot of space will open if your furniture is lifted of the ground. If the legs of your couch or chair are bulky and outdated, make sure to replace them with some new and aesthetic ones. Try to avoid massive rocking chairs and couches. They use a lot of space and make the room look overcrowded. Keep it simple and functional. Another great practice is to use glass everywhere you can. Looking through glass is much better than making a visual barrier with a wooden coffee table for instance.

Make sure to declutter on regular basis

After a while, your living space can get cluttered with various items that you don’t really need in everyday life. Your desks and other surfaces can accumulate more than a few inches of old mail, magazines, and promotional material. A great start of decluttering is getting a large black bag. Start with filling it and you’ll see how new space will open in front of your eyes. Once you’re done with garbage, stop to think what do you really need in your home. Everything that just picks up dust should be disposed of. You may organize a yard sale, or pay a visit to a charity organization and donate your extra stuff. You’ll get yourself more space and you’ll make someone very happy.

Make sure you have enough light

If you were unable to make your walls lighter, you may put a mirror on one. That way, all the light from windows and ceiling lights will make space look bigger due to reflecting. Adding some lamps to room corners will most certainly make your room look larger. If you want your living space to look large, but you would like to avoid excessive sunlight coming in, you might want to find some affordable roller blinds online which can be used for light control. In case you choose to use curtains, make sure to place them as high and wide as you can. This little trick will fool the eye and make an illusion of spaciness. The windows will look larger and ceiling higher.

room, decor, space

Don’t use various flooring styles

Make sure to use just one style and color for your flooring. This continuity will make tiny space look much bigger. Think about medium to light colors when it comes to floors. On the other hand, if you want to use rugs, make sure they’re monochromatic or in solid colors. Another great way to make the room longer is to use the rug with vertical stripes. You should avoid using a rug that is patterned and rich in detail since it’ll shrink the room.

Balance the room weight-wise

You don’t want to place the biggest piece of furniture close to the front door. You should put it against the farthest wall. Make sure to have plenty of space around your entrance. Your guests will need the space to greet you, set their things down, leave their coats and turn around freely. Try to achieve weight balance around your living space. You should aim for symmetry and avoid putting together big and heavy items. Use opposite walls for placing big pieces of furniture.

Final thoughts

As you can see, living in a tiny home shouldn’t be stressful. You’ll just need a good plan and some motivation. Feel free to ask your friends and family to help you with cleaning and refurbishing. Once you’re done, you may repay with a tasty dinner and a movie in your new spacious living room.

If you are planning on going abroad to tie the knot, it’s another world of headaches and planning problems - however, there are a few incredible places that just might be worth it. In today’s guide, we’re going to take a look at some of the best wedding destinations in the world right now - read on to find out more.

Fiji
OK, so Fiji is a long way from home - halfway around the world, in fact. But the hundreds of islands that make up this beautiful country will give you an experience you will never forget. There are 332 islands of Fiji, and each of them offers something a little different, but all will deliver you the picture-postcard perfection that all brides and grooms desire for their big day. It’s something of a paradise, pure and simple, and it’s also worth knowing that the Tokoriki Island Resort in the north of the Mamanuca islands regularly features as one of the world’s most romantic hotels.

Hawaii
Of course, we have some beautiful islands close to home, so there isn’t quite the need to travel halfway around the world if you can’t. A Hawaii wedding is one of those things that we all think about at some point, and it’s a popular choice for many engaged couples. The beaches, palm trees, and weather are a huge pull, of course, but there is also the incredible, star-filled skies in the evenings to enjoy. Romance is never too far away in Hawaii, and it’s one of the most perfect spots on the planet to say ‘I do.’

The Bahamas
You’re probably noticing there is something of a beach theme, here. But hey, who doesn’t want to get married surrounded by golden sands, crystal clear water, and palm trees, right? The Bahamas is another ideal place for a wedding, and as long as you stay clear of the main tourist traps - in Nassau, for example - you will find a romantic location for your ceremony almost at every turn. Take a look at the pink sands of Harbour Island for something truly sensational or head across to the amazing island of Abacos in a boat for your big day.

The Greek Islands
Greece is a wonderful country to visit at any time. But it’s a perfect, romantic destination for your wedding ceremony, too. Again, you can choose from a huge range of islands, from the quiet and contemplative Crete through to the cosmopolitan vibes of Mykonos. Whatever Greek island you choose, however, you are sure to have an incredible day - and vacation. The only issue you have is persuading your guests to join you!

Do you have a preferred wedding destination that is outside of your home country? Why not share your ideas in the comments section below?
