5 Tips to Improving Acne-Prone Skin

Some people are lucky enough to never have an acne breakout, but there are many who have not been so lucky. While most people would complain about the acne on their face, it can actually happen on any part of your body.

Sometimes the acne is bad enough that some people lose confidence over how they look. Some acne is very severe that they become too inflamed and results in serious scarring on the face or other parts of the body. Acne affects both men and women, albeit a little bit differently. Men tend to experience acne breakouts when they are younger, while women can experience them even until they turn 40.

In order to reduce the occurrence of acne flare-ups, try some of the tips below so that your skin will improve.

    1.  Eat healthily  – if you are used to eating greasy food, you might want o to cut back on that as it may be linked to your skin breaking out. It was in 2010 when researchers have found out that there are certain types of food that could increase the chances of acne occurring. Some of those are fast food, food that is high in sugar and junk food. In order not to trigger your acne breakout, stick to healthy food like fish, green tea, and probiotics.

    2. Exercise regularly- It would also help if you exercise regularly as this helps flush out the toxins in your skin and prevents skin breakouts from happening. Exercising keeps the blood flowing on your body giving it a youthful glow.

    3. Maintain good hygiene – bad hygiene per se is not the root cause of acne, but it can lead up to it. Acne happens when there is a more than the normal amount of oil or sebum in the follicles. Because of the sebum, along with the cells, it brings with it up to the surface of the skin, the pores become clogged. That becomes a pimple and when the bacteria in, it becomes inflamed.  That’s why it is a good idea to maintain good hygiene, making sure your body and face are always clean. Establish a regular skin regimen so that your pores will always be free from extra oil that clogs it.

    4. Be careful with the skin care products you choose – whether it’s cosmetics or just cleaning your face and body, you need to make sure that your skincare products are non-comedogenic and oil-free. You do not want to irritate your skin further if the makeup you are using is not hypoallergenic. The same is true for the soap or body wash you use during your shower or bath. Be careful in reading the labels of your face soap, lotion and body wash so that you will not aggravate your skin. You may have found the perfect face wash, but your body wash should also be given consideration if you tend to have acne in your body. Check out this list of the best body wash for acne that you can buy.

    5. Change your pillowcase and beddings every week – you may not realize that dirt has already built up on your beddings and because your skin is in contact with it, your skin becomes clogged with dirt too. Make it a point to regularly wash your linen so that you can avoid getting pimples.

Improving the state of your skin may not be easy, but as long as you commit yourself to it. You will find that it’s all worth it in the end.

It’s Time You Paid Yourself the Beauty Attention you Deserve

As we become adults, we usually begin identifying ourselves in many different ways. Some people are harsh on themselves and begin to ascribe widely different attitudes towards the way they look; therefore, this can have a net decrease in the confidence they have to supply to all activities in their life.

This is a shame because, for the most part, people who are critical of themselves and their appearance are usually much more beautiful than they give themselves credit for. Find information on all about Indoor Tanning Lotions.

Everyone knows what it’s like to have a friend who always proclaims that they’re fat, unattractive or not worth maintaining. This might be you. If it is, you should stop this. No matter who you are, you can look beautiful, and the only way to completely be sure of your beauty is to define it for yourself. Even supermodels that look like they’ve arrived straight from the Greek mountain of the gods to bless us; with their symmetrical, aesthetic beauty all have body image issues, and some even conform to harmful methods of weight loss to keep their trim figures.

    Safe Ways to Be Beautiful

Everybody wants to feel beautiful at some point in their life. Because of this, some people go to extensive and sometimes dangerous lengths to achieve the look that they deem most beautiful. And it is when said lengths are taken when complications can arise that not only hamper the chances of attaining beauty in the present but in the future too. It is for these reasons that you should always take safe routes when it comes to making yourself look beautiful. A few of these safe ways to beautify yourself can be found below.

Safe ways to beautify your lashes

Women, especially those in their late teens and early twenties, love making their lashes and eyebrows look as beautiful as can be. And this means they go to great lengths to both manage, control and shape them. One such length that is commonly gone to by women who are seeking to beautify their lashes is to forcefully remove any lash hair they don’t want. But removing it in this way is dangerous as, unlike other hair on the body, eyebrow and lash hair will stop growing if it is subjected to it on a regular basis. So, stop with the plucking, tweezing and other forms of forceful movement. Instead, head on over to the site to find information on just how to grow lashes and eyebrows quickly and naturally. And make sure to lock your tweezer away so that you’re not tempted to use it!

Safe ways to beautify your bum

Similarly, women of this day and age have an obsession with making their bum appear to be as beautiful as possible. Generally, this means making it appear to be as voluptuous, curvy and Kim Kardashian-like as can be. And to achieve such a look, generally, implant surgery is sought. But this kind of invasive surgery is not safe, not one bit. It stresses the skin in that area of the body in such a way that it makes it sag unnaturally. And not to mention it costs around $7000! So, in your quest to beautify your bum make sure to avoid surgery altogether and take much safer routes. Once such route is to simply invest in hip and butt padding. Doing so, and wearing it underneath your pants, will make your bum appear to look the way you want it to, without having to subject it too dangerous and invasive surgery.

    Safe ways to beautify skin

When it comes to beautifying our skin and combating the signs of aging that are wrinkles, generally cosmetic surgery in the form of botox is sought. But there are always alternatives to cosmetic surgery, and these alternatives should always be sought. One way is to simply invest in anti-aging cream. Another way, quite surprisingly, is to change your sleeping habits. Sleeping on your side or front can induce deep wrinkles in your face — so start sleeping on your back!

As mentioned, everybody wants to feel as if they look beautiful at some point. And when this point arises in your life, make sure you take the safest route possible to attain your beauty. If you don’t, then you will certainly end up regretting it.

Common Mistakes when Removing Gel Polishes at Home

Gel nail polishes are heaven-sent. Gel polishes like Svensson Gel Nail Polish last and sticks much longer than normal nail polishes. We’ve seen famous celebrities with perfectly manicured nails all the time. But one of the biggest problems women encounter with gel polish is the do-it-yourself removal process which can leave nails weak and damaged if not done properly. In this post, we provide you with some essential tips on how to prevent this.

    Gel Polish

    Avoid Peeling

This is probably one of the biggest mistakes most women make. Gel that is peeled and scraped off improperly can really damage your nails. Like all parts of the human body, our nails are composed of cells and when you begin to pull off the gel in an aggressive manner, you’re not just getting rid of the polish, but you’re also removing the top most layer of your nails’ cells.

Keep in mind that while you can have a gel manicure every two weeks, it is better for your nails to have a break for a week (during which time you can use ordinary nail polish) and then resume your gel manicure on the fourth week. In addition, remove your gel manicure after two weeks – even if it still looks good – as it will be harder to remove the gel if you wear the gel nails for a longer period of time.

Importance of Having the Proper Tools

It is ideal to have your gel nail polish be removed by a professional, but you can also attain the same results right in the comfort of your own home – and ensure that the process is not be damaging to your nails – provided you have the right tools. What you will need is acetone, a nail stick made of wood, some cotton balls and foil.

You’ll need a really strong acetone for removing gel polish, but there is no need to buy any of the expensive brands that are advertised for removing gel polishes – just buy an acetone that is labeled as maximum or extreme strength.

    Cuticle Protection

You also need to make sure that your cuticles are properly protected. The key here is creating some type of “wall” between the acetone and your cuticles. You can use an ointment like Aquaphor for this. This “wall” layer can help prevent your cuticles from getting damaged through the process since in order for the gel to be properly removed, you have to entirely cover your nails with cotton wool soaked in acetone, and then wrap with the foil.

    Importance of Moisturizing your Nails

After you have removed all the gel polish, your nails will tend to look a little dry so it is essential to moisturize your nails right away. Nail oil is recommended by the professionals. Another method to recover your nails after removing a gel manicure is to give it some time to rest at least overnight and hydrate it. You can do this by applying to your cuticles a suitable amount of Aquaphor or even Vaseline. Simply rub it gently into your nails before you head off to bed.

Follow these tips and you will be able to enjoy all the advantages of using a long-lasting nail polish – but without the hassles of removing it – and you’ll be keeping your nails in a healthy condition too.

Tips to Get More Kissable Lips

    kissable lips

Lips are one of a woman’s best features. Men love them, and women love having a pretty full lip to show off in their selfies. Even if you don’t think your lips are particularly impressive, there are lots of things you can do to make them look more luscious and imminently more kissable, so that no one will be able to resist you.

Check out these tips to get more kissable lips:

    Drink More Water

Lips need a lot of moisture if they’re going to look as plump and healthy as they should, which is why you should drink lots of water throughout the day to keep them hydrated. Being well-hydrated will also plump up and improve the appearance of your skin.

    Lots of Lip Smacker

Unfortunately, the skin on our lips is quite thin, and it doesn’t benefit from any natural oils like other parts of the body, so it really is essential, if you want to have smooth, plump lips, that you apply moisture in the form of your favorite lip smacker on a regular basis. Lip balms that contain hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax are best.

    Exfoliate Regularly

Because the skin on the lips is quite thin, you shouldn’t over exfoliate, but you should make an effort to get rid of dead skin at least once or twice a week, or if your lips are particularly sensitive, whenever you notice a real need to do so. Dead skin will start to flake if it isn’t removed and no one ever wanted to kiss horribly flaky lips.

    Apply SPF

Again, because the skin on the lips is thin and sensitive, it’s really important that you protect them by applying an SPF lip moisturizer daily. Even if it isn’t a sunny day, you still need to do this.

    Apply a Hydrating Lipstick

If you want your lips to really look their best, steer clear of matte lipsticks which will dry out your lips and make them look dull and lifeless. Instead, find a great hydrating lipstick in your signature color and use that instead. If you must use a matte lipstick, at least a apply a layer or two of lip balm before you apply your lipstick.

    Plump it Up

Lips that look naturally plump are so much more inviting than the lips, but you don’t have to have naturally plump lips to create the effect! Just apply a lip plumping gloss over your lipstick for a quick boost.

    Take Care of Your Teeth

There’s little point making your lips look good if you don’t also take care of your teeth. After all, your lips look imminently more kissable when you smile, and if your teeth aren’t the best, that could ruin the effect.

If your teeth are missing or in really bad shape, consider getting the best dental implants you can afford, to transform your smile, otherwise, just doing the basics, like brushing and flossing regularly and avoiding excess sugar should be enough.

Do you have amazingly kissable lips? What are your top tips for creating lips that no man or woman can resist?

How to Switch to Natural Beauty Products

We, as a society, are becoming more health conscious every year. From the rise in green living to smoothies and juicing, we know we have to do more to live longer and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. One of the latest trends in health is switching to natural beauty products. We’re more aware than ever of the chemicals that are put in our products, and we don’t want them touching our skin anymore. Here are a few tips when you’re ready to make the transition to natural beauty products.

    Save Your Bank Balance

Even though you’re aware that your current beauty products aren’t that good for you, hold on to them for a while. Going natural can be expensive and it’s not something you want to do all at once. As your products begin to run out, replace them when necessary and transition slowly. This doesn’t just save you from spending a ridiculous amount of money, it also gives you the time to do some research into the type of products you’re interested in and where you can get them from.

    makeup makeup natural beauty products

    Use Less

The whole point of going natural is to give your skin a chance to breathe. Before you make the switch to natural products, you may want to start using less on your skin. For instance, save eye shadow, eyeliners and lip liners for special occasions. As you start to cut down on some of the products you use, you may start to realize how much you were actually relying on. The bigger the variety of beauty products, the more chemicals your body has had to deal with.

    Get Samples

Switching to natural beauty products is a whole new ball game. You may find that you purchase a foundation in your usual tone but it’s the wrong colour for your skin or it doesn’t give you the coverage you want. Natural beauty products are becoming more and more popular, which means you’ll have a bigger choice. Get some samples before you decide on buying anything. For example, sampling natural products for hair will give you a chance to find out if you get the results you’re looking for.

    Look at Ingredients

Before you start diving into the world of natural beauty products, you need to know which ingredients are good and which are bad. Unfortunately, there will undoubtedly be companies that advertise their products as natural but they’ll still contain ingredients that could do you harm. Here are some natural ingredients you can rely upon for the health of your skin.

As you start to use natural products instead of your usual ones, you may start to feel slightly unwell. You may experience headaches or you may have severe acne. This is because your body has been used to getting a daily dose of the ingredients in your unnatural products. As you progress with your natural beauty regime, you’ll notice these symptoms disappear. Your body will need to detox, just as it does when you quit smoking or cut out caffeine.

    Selfie Beauty Tips

The selfie has completely taken over the world. There are probably few people on the planet, and certainly in the West, who don’t know what a selfie is and most of them will have taken at least one.

Let’s face it, we all like to show off our style by uploading a selfie or two to our social media accounts. I mean, it’s so gratifying when someone likes your picture or compliments you on your look that it can be quite addictive for some. Many selfie kings and queens even spend hours of time and lots of cash ensuring that they’re picture perfect in every selfie they take. Although I wouldn’t necessarily suggest going that far, there are lots of things that you can do to ensure that you look great in each and every selfie you take. Check them out…

    Look After Your Teeth

If we’re not pouting, then we’re smiling in our selfies, which is why taking good care of our teeth has to be a priority if we want to look great in every snap we take. Luckily, this is pretty easy, and as long as you cover the basics like brushing and flossing twice daily, you should be good to go. Of course, if you aren’t happy with your teeth, teeth whitening and straightening are additional options you might want to explore.

    Celebrity Skin

You aren’t exactly going to look ah-mazing in your selfies if your skin is dull and flaky, which is why you’ll want to take extra care of your skin. As a minimum, you should be buffing your face with a good exfoliator at least twice a week (or as directed) and cleansing, toning, and moisturizing daily. Throw in a weekly face mask, and you’ll have beautiful, glowing skin 24/7 – no more getting caught out by the camera for you. NDA 100% Pure Essential Oil will hydrate the dullness and driest skin stay flawless as you can.

    red lips

    Apply a Lip Plumper

If selfies are all about the perfect pout for you, there’s no need to go for lip injections, which have turned many a pretty smile into an ugly trout pout. All you need to do is ensure you apply a good lip plumper before you point that camera at your face.

    Do Your Eye Makeup First

Makeup is essential if you want to create a flawless selfie, but you need to apply that makeup flawlessly for it to pay off with a killer photo, and that’s why you should always apply your eye makeup before your foundation. By doing this, you’ll avoid making a mess of your foundation, and you’ll look flawlessly fresh.

    Line Inner Rim of Eyes

Adding a liner to the inner rip of your upper eyelid is a great way to make your eyelashes look thicker and define your eyes so that they really pop when you take a picture.

    Lashings of Mascara

When it comes to selfies and the eyes, more mascara is more. If you use only a small amount of mascara, it won’t exactly show up well on camera, and your eyes won’t look quite so open in the shot. So, add two, three or even four layers of mascara before you take that selfie, or if you like, apply false lashes to give you more volume and make your eyes really stand out on camera.

    (Maybe) Go Full Coverage

In selfies, it really matters that your skin looks flawless and the best way to achieve this is with a full coverage foundation that matches your natural skin tone as closely as possible. If, however, you want to look natural and you have a freckly complexion, going for a sheer foundation that also offers coverage, like the Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Treatment Foundation, will ensure that you still look like your authentic self. When you’re applying foundation, don’t forget to cover your ears, so that they match your face and look just as flawless. It can look weird when your ears are a completely different shade to the rest of you!

Contouring is in vogue right now, but it isn’t just a fad, it really does make your face look better in photos, and actually in real. Life too. The key to good contouring is to use a good blush brush to apply a matte blush or bronzer to those areas of the face that are most angular, like the jaw and forehead.

    Eye brows, Instagram brows

    Embolden Your Brows

If you want to look younger and prettier in your selfies, you don’t need to book a face-lift or anything like that; you just need to work on your eyebrows. Eyebrows that are fuller and bolder will structure your face for a more youthful, attractive look. This is something you can easily do with a good brow pencil or mascara if your brows are a bit thin naturally.

    Moisturize The Lips

Again, the mouth area is very important in selfies, which is why you need to pay attention not only to your teeth but also to your lips. If you want your lips to look fuller and younger, make sure you use a high-quality lip balm to moisturize them daily and apply a little gloss before you take a picture, so that they look moist, young and very luscious.

    Use a Boar Hair Brush

There’s nothing worse than taking what would otherwise be the perfect selfie only to find that your hair looks frizzy on camera. You can minimize the chances of this happening by lightly brushing your hair with a boar hair brush, which minimizes frizz, before taking your picture. It’ll make your hair look shinier and healthier on camera too.

Bonus: When to Take a Selfie

Okay, so this isn’t a beauty tip. But taking the perfect selfie is about more than your makeup and beauty regime. You might be interested to know that, if you’re outdoors, it’s best to take your picture at dawn or dusk, avoiding midday completely if you can. This is because the light is better at these times than it is between the hours of noon and 4 pm when the light is right above you and shadows will be cast on your face, making you look less than the perfect beauty you are.

Are you a selfie queen What are your top tips for always being selfie-ready and taking perfect shots?

    Myths and Facts about Anti-Aging

When it comes to info about anti-aging must-have, top-of-the-line products, there’s a constant buzz that is flooding us, and it’s difficult to tell what’s fact and what’s fiction.
Some recommend water intake like the one true fountain of youth for keeping your skin plump and glowing, others have gone all organic, others have taken the no-smiling resting face tactic as seriously as it can get to prevent the formation of fine lines. Some stuff works for some while doing nothing for others. The internet is an ever-growing source for tips and tricks on how to maintain a youthful appearance, but the reality is that a lot of myths also flourish amidst.
To set the record straight, we took it upon ourselves to find 5 of the most popular ideas about what causes the skin to age and see what the hype is all about.

Skin whitening creams lead to premature aging
Whitening face creams have been under the spotlight for a long time now for encouraging a racist and discriminatory behavior, but what is also not to be disregarded is the serious effects they can leave on your skin after constant use.
Studies have shown that these creams contain a dangerous cocktail of components such as steroids or tretinoin that can lead to severe problems; skin and liver cancer are just two of them. Another chemical in these creams is hydroquinone, a product that is currently banned in the European Union, Australia, and Japan. For the sake of clarity, let’s just put it this way, hydroquinone is indeed very effective for treating overly pigmented areas on your face, yes. On the other hand, the reason this chemical has gained such a bad rep is because studies have shown that it has some carcinogenic effects if applied to the skin. It is categorized as being toxic to cells. Basically, besides inhibiting the excessive production of melanin (which means it lightens the skin), long-term usage can lead to pigment cell damage. Below you can find a few other side-effects hydroquinone can have if you have sensitive skin or a predisposition toward allergies:
    •    Contact dermatitis
    •    Increased exposure to UV radiation
    •    Increased risks of getting hyperpigmentation, once the melanin production is affected
    •    Thick, flaky skin
Anti-aging cream can work against you
Anti-aging face creams are not just products; they are a commitment to everyday routine. There’s no such thing as a knife-free quick fix in a bottle. Wrinkle creams are not something you put on your face at night to wake up ten years younger in the morning, fine line free. All we can do is invest in this routine, choose what’s proven to be safe and healthy and cross our fingers in the hopes that 5 or 10 years from now we’ll thank ourselves for all the efforts.
We buy anti-wrinkle creams to nourish our skin, to combat the effects our crazy everyday lives, full of long hours at work and little sleep. But are these face creams working against us? We’ve often tried out a bunch of products that were designed to create a more youthful appearance, to encourage the elasticity of skin, yet woke up to see that not only they didn’t work, but also caused irritations, redness and made wrinkles even more visible. How come? Well, it’s all about ingredients.
To help you with your anti-aging efforts, we’ve listed out a few ingredients that should be a red flag when you’re renewing your stash of youth:
Petroleum jelly (or mineral oil): although there are many who swear by the extra protection and moisturizing effects of petroleum, the action this ingredient has is it creates a film over the skin surface, clogging pores and preventing the skin’s natural ability to cleanse itself. If used regularly, it promotes acne, skin irritation, and an overall aging appearance.
Sulphates: they’re everywhere, in all products, from toothpaste to shampoos, even in powerful car engine degreasers. The quantity in each varies of course; nonetheless, they can be quite corrosive if you have sensitive skin, leading to dryness and dryness just means more visible wrinkles.
Alcohols: ethanol, methanol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, these are all ingredients that can be found in a bunch of anti-aging face creams. Their effect is drying the skin and stripping away the natural oils found on your face, leading of course to premature aging.
So, do anti-aging creams contribute to premature aging? Some do! Pay attention to the label.
The earlier you use anti-aging cream, the better
Just like Black Friday seems to be starting earlier each year, the cosmetic industry seems to be pushing down the age when you should start using anti-aging products.
Nowadays it’s become a habit to start using anti-wrinkle cream straight out of high school. But is this necessary?
To get our facts straight, we did our research, and most estheticians agree that what you should focus on when deciding whether or not you should start having an anti-aging routine is your skin complexion. These nutrients and antioxidant-filled cosmetics are especially designed for people with dry skin, as this is the type most prone to premature aging. So if you have dry skin, feel free to start using them as early as your 20s, although it’s advisable, to begin with, a moisturizing cream before switching to anti-aging. Just make sure you use the right product. If your complexion is mixed or oily, then you should postpone the moment you begin using these products as they can potentially clog your pores or lead to blackheads or even an acne breakout.
All in all, don’t rush into using this type of products from an early age. With a proper diet, no smoking and sunscreen, it will be years until you need them. Everything has its time.
You don’t need sunscreen if it’s not sunny
It’s easy to forget to put on sunscreen when it’s not sunny outside. Forgetting though is not as bad as the common idea that when cloudy, sunscreen is not necessary. This misconception comes from the fact that most of us were not aware that there are two types of rays that can affect us and they do that differently. UVB rays are the ones that lead to tanning, as their burning effect is almost immediate. UVA rays are the ones that can reach you even through clouds, smog and even glass. The latter are responsible for premature skin aging.
There are certain situations when you’re more at risk than others: around snow, ice, at the beach or near water. This is because all these mediums have a mirroring action and they can expose you to the effects of UVA rays even more.
One of the biggest problems caused by the sun is skin cancer, especially melanoma that affects people in their 20’s. You should know that sunscreen prevents eruptions of red veins and acne too.
Our advice: include sunscreen in your daily routine and put on that sunny smile.
Anti-aging will always be a hot topic, and info about this spring all around. Some are true; some is just hype. Look for honest reviews and whatever you choose to believe, make sure is an educated choice! But trust me on one thing: always use sunscreen.

Even though I’m not a big fan of lashes I would test out Dimples Natural Look Lashes. They are inexpensive and easy to apply. It also gives that natural feeling of wearing your own lashes.

What are you best tips on applying lashes? Do you wear them only on special occassions?

Blogger’s Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer – Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel Off Mask

Not every day I will do a face mask but when I do I want a product that will show me results immediately or in a matter of 3 days. The Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask is a clear green gooey gel-like substance that dries 10-15 minutes after applying to the skin. It can be easily removed by peeling the layer of dried product from the skin and rinsing to get the remains off if any. It does not hurt to peel off and it is recommended not to be used on the eye area, eyebrows, or the hairline.

    Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask

The Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask helps to clarify and renews the skin from impurities. It has a thick consistency but spreads easily when smooth unto face. I use my fingertip to apply and I find it to be less messy. The product has a light refreshing scent of cucumbers and a slight smell of alcohol.

If the mask is not dried completely then you will have a difficult time trying to peel it off from the skin. I would recommend rinsing off the product. Especially, if you don’t want to keep on the mask long enough to prevent excessive drying out of the skin.
    My Ratings
Blogger's Beauty Brawl - Freeman Cucumber Peel Off Mask
My face felt soft, smooth and refresh after peeling off the mask. It is not super hydrating, so I follow up with a moisturizer.
The Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask peels off in one piece and not small pieces. This makes it easy and fun to use.

The product comes in a soft green coloured tube bottle. It has a flip cover which makes the product easy to squeeze out. The peel-off mask is inexpensive; it retails from a range of $3-$7 depending on location. It can be used for normal/combo skin types.
