Where The H*** Has My Hair Gone?!

bald spot

OK, so hair loss is a bit of a sensitive issue. It can be embarrassing and really affect our self-esteem. But I’m here to tell you that it’s not the end of the world. There are things that can be done about it. So even if you do find yourself looking in the mirror and saying: “Where the h*** has my hair gone?!,” you don’t have to accept the situation.

wigs

Wigs

Firstly, before getting into the treatment of hair loss, let’s look at what can be done in the interim period. You can style your hair to cover that part that is balding. Also this need to be done carefully, as it can look a little strange.

The other option you may want to consider is wigs. Wigs are a truly fantastic invention that has been around forever! Even folks that don’t have hair loss wear wigs!

Wigs are easier to style than your own hair, as you can do it when they are not in your head. You also get loads of variety if you are a wig wearer. Meaning you get to sport more outlandish styles and colors that perhaps you would do with your own natural hair.

There are two main types of wigs, ones made from real hair and synthetic ones. If you are going for a natural look, then a real hair wig is best. Although you can get that shiny look out of a synthetic one by soaking it in a bowl of fabric softener overnight.

Hair transplants

While you may be happy to wear wigs, that doesn’t mean that you don’t still want you hair loss problem sorted out. One way that you can do this is to go for a hair transplant.

A hair transplant is a surgery where they remove hair from your body and transplant it into your scalp. It’s also known as hair plugs, and it’s quite popular with celebrities and actors, which you can read more about here.

Products

However, the problem, with hair transplants is that they aren’t cheap. That means they are out of reach for many people. So if you have a hair loss problem, but don’t regularly walk the red carpet what you can do?

Well, try looking at other products that are on the market, designed for thinning hair. You can get shampoo for hair loss now. Something that is super easy to maintain because you just replace your normal shampoo with it when you wash your hair.

There are also some hair growth serums on the market that can be useful in this situation.  This is because they are designed to stimulate the follicles. Something that can encourage faster regrowth.

aloe vera

Natural remedies

Lastly, if you’re not so keen on surgery or commercial products then why not have a go at making some of your own natural remedies at home for hair loss?

Olive oil massages are said to help stimulate the blood flow in the scalp area, to help regrowth. You can even include aloe vera in this mix, as this will help to strengthen hair and reduces any irritation on the scalp.
