A Job That Shapes the Future of Healthcare

Healthcare has, of course, always been important, but it’s going to be even more important in the future. That’s because the number of people that regularly require its services will be increasing, due to changing demographics. For perhaps the first time in history, the number of people that are in retirement age outnumbers children under the age of five, and the difference is only going to grow more profound. So that tells us something about healthcare and the challenges that we as a society will face.

To combat the challenges that the changing demographics will bring, it’ll be important for the healthcare industry to have well-rounded leaders with a diverse set of skills. While there is expected job growth in virtually all positions related to healthcare, one that is in particular demand are positions in medical and health services management. This is expected to grow by in demand by around 20% in the coming years, which is much more than other jobs.

So why are these jobs so important? It’s partly because of the roles that they are responsible for, which can have a profound impact on the overall standard of healthcare. For example, they can be involved in cost-control management of expensive drugs, and also ensure that medical practices stay compliant with government requirements.

The fact that they make a difference, attract high salaries and have strong career prospects make it a job that’s much sought after. To learn more about working in this field, check out the infographic below.
