The Perfect Autumn Looks For Everyone

Everyone is pretty in their own way, and with the seasons changing we can all ramp that up to 11 if we choose to. With autumn here and winter just around the corner, it’s time to break out your earthy tones and warm lipsticks. Autumn is different to summer not just because of the cooler weather and crunchy grounds, but it’s also a great time to look fantastic when you’re outside with simple looks. Here are a few ideas on the perfect autumn trends that work for pretty much everyone.

Use makeup to enhance your looks rather than make a new one for yourself. If you’re lucky for this season alone, you could have an original autumn look based on your hair color or skin tone, so really bring out your best fall look with a few of these style tips.

    👀The Windows To My #Soul 🔴

A post shared by ChrissyGlamm (@chrissyglamm) on

    Have A Monochrome Canvas

With all the leaves on the ground and trees becoming more and bearer as we speak, having a monochrome makeup look will make you look right at home! It’s simple yet beautiful. You don’t even need dual shades for this look, and you can go for triples or quadruples if you like more variety. You can match any color to any other as long as they share a base.

Muted palettes and nudes are a perfect shade type for this kind of makeup. First of all, find the colour that’s right for you, then simply use it all across your face. Match your peach or rose lips to your eyeshadow palette with a lighter burgundy across your eyelids. It may seem less striking but you’ll look put together and perfect.

You don’t have to go through the trouble of mix and matching when it comes to having a block to work with. This can work for all skin tones, whether it be a pale or vibrant shade. For a spooky season look, you can even have a burnt orange on your lips and cheeks that remind you of pumpkins.

Coat Your Eyes With Art Deco

Makeup is art, so combining it with artistic movements is great. Sound complicated? It’s easy! When it comes to lining your eyes with your favourite marker, use simple shapes that vary in size and intensity. You don’t even have to be an expert to pull this trick off! Using a pencil liner, draw circles on your eyelids and then connect them up, or draw big lines that you can fill in and go over with some liquid eyeliner.

You can turn your face into a literal work of art with beauty standards that seem ripped straight out of the 1920s. Bringing the old back into the modern day with retro looks is not only stylish but a cut above a lot of the current trends. This makes it perfect for changing up your look for autumn when environmental change is all around us.

Use your usual setting hacks for longer lasting makeup looks during the fall. It’s even harder to get makeup to stay on during the rainier seasons, so be sure to set your liner with a little eyeshadow in the exact same shade. This will make you continuously pop, and is completely easy to do.

Pair Your Scarf With Your Cheeks

When we think of fall, we think of pumpkin spice and everything nice. Now when it comes to putting an outfit together with your makeup in mind, it couldn’t be easier with burnt and block colours during this time of year. This work wonders on your cheeks due to the area available and highlighting possible.

For fair cheeks and lighter skin tones, a good warm color for your cheeks is a peachy tone. Look for more neutral tones rather than pink, which are the most blendable if you want to switch a look up. This pairs well with pale scarfs of orangey or beige colors for sunnier days and is a perfectly cool looking combo.

For darker skin tones, a burnt out or ombre ‘brick’ color is good for an autumn look. This also pairs well with an orange or red scarf, which contrasts amazingly with your skin tone and brings out your natural beauty.

If you have an infinity scarf, loop it properly around your neck by having wide loops that decrease in size as they go down. You can knot it as well if it’s too long for you, and your outfit will never look better!

Dark Lips To Win Everyone Over

If you like striking appearances then this one is especially for you. Last year there was a trend going around for dark lips in the autumn time, so we know this is an especially popular idea. If you’ve not got the hang of eye makeup yet, and are still working on your perfect blusher, having some striking lips to show the world draws attention away from these if you so wish.

Plum colors are always a good choice. You can even use some dual tones for a noteworthy lip appearance. A dual tone mix of a pale and bright colour can boost your lip size naturally and is just different to what we see a lot of the time.

For a real in-depth info guide for the best lip colors, you can learn more here about your perfect lip tint and what ‘vampy’ look might be best for your skin type. These dark looks have always been in fashion, and with the resurgence in the goth style, you’ll fit right in around younger and older people.

These are just rough outlines for what you can do with your makeup in terms of seasonal looks. Once you’ve finished reading them, why not give them a try? Makeup is a wonderful creative tool, and you can go with or against the societal grain if you choose. You know you best after all, so try and spice up your look for autumn. You never know how good things can turn out!

Tips to Get More Kissable Lips

    kissable lips

Lips are one of a woman’s best features. Men love them, and women love having a pretty full lip to show off in their selfies. Even if you don’t think your lips are particularly impressive, there are lots of things you can do to make them look more luscious and imminently more kissable, so that no one will be able to resist you.

Check out these tips to get more kissable lips:

    Drink More Water

Lips need a lot of moisture if they’re going to look as plump and healthy as they should, which is why you should drink lots of water throughout the day to keep them hydrated. Being well-hydrated will also plump up and improve the appearance of your skin.

    Lots of Lip Smacker

Unfortunately, the skin on our lips is quite thin, and it doesn’t benefit from any natural oils like other parts of the body, so it really is essential, if you want to have smooth, plump lips, that you apply moisture in the form of your favorite lip smacker on a regular basis. Lip balms that contain hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax are best.

    Exfoliate Regularly

Because the skin on the lips is quite thin, you shouldn’t over exfoliate, but you should make an effort to get rid of dead skin at least once or twice a week, or if your lips are particularly sensitive, whenever you notice a real need to do so. Dead skin will start to flake if it isn’t removed and no one ever wanted to kiss horribly flaky lips.

    Apply SPF

Again, because the skin on the lips is thin and sensitive, it’s really important that you protect them by applying an SPF lip moisturizer daily. Even if it isn’t a sunny day, you still need to do this.

    Apply a Hydrating Lipstick

If you want your lips to really look their best, steer clear of matte lipsticks which will dry out your lips and make them look dull and lifeless. Instead, find a great hydrating lipstick in your signature color and use that instead. If you must use a matte lipstick, at least a apply a layer or two of lip balm before you apply your lipstick.

    Plump it Up

Lips that look naturally plump are so much more inviting than the lips, but you don’t have to have naturally plump lips to create the effect! Just apply a lip plumping gloss over your lipstick for a quick boost.

    Take Care of Your Teeth

    brush-teeth

There’s little point making your lips look good if you don’t also take care of your teeth. After all, your lips look imminently more kissable when you smile, and if your teeth aren’t the best, that could ruin the effect.

If your teeth are missing or in really bad shape, consider getting the best dental implants you can afford, to transform your smile, otherwise, just doing the basics, like brushing and flossing regularly and avoiding excess sugar should be enough.

Do you have amazingly kissable lips? What are your top tips for creating lips that no man or woman can resist?

Blogger’s Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer – Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Blogger's Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer - Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

The key to wearing a good matte lipstick application is clean, dry, moisturized and exfoliated lips. Matte lipsticks can be drying, so it is important to drink enough water throughout the day to keep the lips hydrated. Also applying lip balm prior matte lipstick application is required.

Kat Von d Everlasting Liquid Lipstick (Damned)

I picked up this Kat Von d Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Damned. A deep burgundy shade. I am a huge fan of Kat Von D cosmetics so I had to at least sample one of the liquid lipsticks. Then again at a price of $20 each for 6.6mL/0.22 fl. Oz. I couldn’t justify myself buying all 46 shades at once. I just picked up a shade that looked perfect in the packaging and something that is not close to what I already own. The price is in the same range as several other brand liquid lipsticks on the market.

I like dark vampy colours so I choose to go with this deep burgundish shade (Damned).

    Packaging

The liquid lipstick comes in a clear plastic tube with a thin sponge doe foot applicator. The tip of the applicator allows you to precisely apply the liquid lipstick from one corner of your lips to the other. The flat edge of the applicator covers the surface of the lip as you swipe from left to right. The sponge does not pick up as many products so you might want to coat the lips 2-3 times to get that opaque pigmented, even application look.

    Pros

    Cons

    Not transferable
    Drying
    Highly pigmented
    Uneven application
    Non-sticky
    Messy (crack, feather…)
    Smooth application
    Easy to apply
    Buildable
Blogger's Beauty Brawl: 10 Days of Summer - Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick has a long lasting staying power with high pigmentation. It is kiss proof and non-transferable. Exactly what I look for in a matte lipstick. The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick is drying but not to the point that the lips feel dehydrated. The texture is lightweight and it glides on smoothly, however; I feel like the doe foot applicator sponge could be a bit thicker. Thick enough to pick up an ample amount of product to apply to lips. I had to coat my lips 2-3 times before I could get the product to look even on my lips. The Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick dried very fast between each application, the product did not felt sticky like some other liquid lipsticks neither was it messy on the lips. The liquid lipstick sits comfortably on the lips you will forget that it is even there. If you are gonna wear this Kat Von D liquid lipstick watch out for a little feathering especially if you eat greasy food or have dry lips. Eating anything oily will separate the liquid lipstick making it become messy.

With the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, I was able to eat without this product smearing on my chin.

The Most Romantic Makeup to Wear on Valentines Day

It’s true that every day is the day to put your best face forward. However, there is something exceptionally magical about Valentines Day that not only makes you excited about raiding your closet in pursuit of a dress that will send the right message, (the message being that you are over the moon in love 💘), but also about the makeup that will reflect the sentiment.

To that end, here are some of the most romantic suggestions for makeup looks that are bound to ensure your sweet Valentine is left with nothing but amazement and a desire to lavish you with never-ending kisses.

    The Classic Red Lip

If you’re a traditionalist and a firm believer in red being the color of love, a clean and classy red lip 👄look is the way to go. By this point, it’s most likely that you own your perfect shade of red lipstick, and it is time to fish it out of your makeup case. For this occasion, it’s highly recommended you opt for a matte lipstick, preferably powered by a lip-liner in the same shade. This will not only ensure durability and stain-free wine glasses, but it will also allow you the lengthy lip-locks with your significant other without having to run to the ladies room for a touch up every ten minutes.
    The Classic Red Lip

As for the rest of your face, given the boldness of the red lip, keep things clean and simple. Be sure to have the right makeup brushes as they make all the difference in the world. When it comes to foundation, a flawless finish is best achieved by using a brush. Depending on your skin type, go for either a flat brush or if you’re not a fan of your pores a flat top foundation brush; it is the best tool for making them disappear.

Finally, the eyes. Apply a neutral eyeshadow across the lid as it will prevent your perfect eyeliner from smudging and make sure your wing is on fleek.

    The No-Makeup Look

For all the ladies out there who swear by the ‘less is more’ approach to makeup, a variety of nudes is what should be on your makeup table in preparation for this evening.

Apply your base shadow all over the lid. After that, pick up your crease brush in order to add a pop of color; preferably a light bronze or peach eyeshadow. After that, blend to smooth out the rough edges and achieve a seamless finish. Your lips should be covered with nothing but a gentle peach lip gloss designed to make you look fresh and effortless.

Of course, no no-makeup look is ever complete without a touch of shimmer, and that is where a good light honey highlighter comes to play. Grace the top of your cheekbones with the right amount of highlighter for that J.Lo glow, and by no means should you forget the tip of your nose and cupid’s bow for a full a kissable pout. If you are a visual learner and need help achieving this look, turn to Lisa Eldridge.

    Pretty in Pink

In case you wish to take a page from Emma Watson’s beauty book and exude that subtle romance, make pink your color. The eyeshadow palette that comes to mind for this look is one infused with different shades of pink.

Apply a neutral pale beige shade across your eyelid, and add just a touch of the satin-textured medium pink shade on the crease. Moderate amount of mascara is recommended for this look. The cheeks should be kept light. Use a translucent light pink blush gently applied with a blush brush.

As the rest of your makeup is dreamily fresh and light, the lips could stand for a pop of color. Don’t be afraid to use a more bold shade of pink, perhaps dab into the lightplum family. This look is bound to make you look like a fairy, evoking that A Midsummer Night’s Dream feel.

All of these looks celebrate femininity, romance and love. Each of these, in their own way; sends the same message, so there is no way you could go wrong with any of them. On Valentine’s day, wear your heart on your sleeve and let your face reflect the romantic goddess that you are.

ColourPop: It’s Vintage Lip Collection, Paradox Eye Shadow Swatch and Review

    ColourPop Lip Kit and Eyeshadow

So I have been following the ColourPop trend for a while but only now I have decided to make my first official purchase. First off I must say, when you are addicted to makeup, you become a product junkie, so in return, you will want to collect a bunch of beauty products and you might want to buy every new collection on the market, some you might not even finish to the bottom before the expiration date.

Anyhow, I decided to start with the mini kit since I have so many lipsticks in my collection that are not even half used. By doing this I still get to try the product and I end up spending less for minis than paying for the full sized product. My first ColourPop product actually came in my ipsy glam bag.

    Makeup in Minutes

    Never Leave Wall Clock

We all love to look pretty no matter what the occasion. Having your makeup done in 5/10/40 minutes can be a test, especially if we had a last minute call, heading out to dinner or whatever it is the aim is to look your best. This guide will help you to choose how to apply your makeup in minutes.

In a rush? (5 min max)

Start with a full coverage foundation that will even out your skin tone. Use a pencil liner that will give the eyes an instant pop. Proceed to swipe on a sheer pink lipstick that can double as a blush for a pretty cheek.

Get Glowing, Fast  (20 min max)

Use a concealer pencil to cover blemishes, if any and a quick drying foundation for an overall flawless complexion. Use a neutral shadow apply it from the lash line to the brow bone and use a slightly darker shade on the crease. Create a winged lined look with a liquid liner and apply two coats of a deep black mascara for impact. Last but not least apply a bold, hydrating lipstick in a bright hue to the lips.

Take Your Time, Do It Right (40 min max)

Use a concealer if needed to cover blemish areas etc. Then apply foundation with a sculpted brush for a more even coverage. Fill and groom brows with a pencil, brow powder and brush; highlight the brow bone with a light shade of shadow, then use a darker shade from the lash line to the eye crease. Use an angled brush to apply gel eyeliner for a sharp line. If you wear falsies use a tweezer to apply individual lashes to the outer upper corners of the eye. Follow with a two-step volumizing mascara. Then use a makeup sponge to dab on cream blush to cheeks to compliment the eyes. Dust highlighter over high points such as the forehead, bridge of the nose and cheekbones. Line lips before applying lipstick.

How long does it take you to apply your makeup?
How many minutes in advance do you apply your makeup before you get dressed to leave the house?
