    Get Happier, Healthier, Hydrated Skin

Hydrated skin is healthy skin. You don’t want your skin to be dried out and itchy or flaking, or it could cause lots of problems for you. Dry skin can look dull, and it’s not a great idea to apply makeup and other products to dry skin either. You might be liberally applying moisturizer and body lotion every chance you get, but that won’t necessarily help if you’re not doing a few other things. If you want to get better hydrated skin, you can try a few different things to achieve that healthy glow.

    Beauty Is in the Beast

We often talk about how beauty is something that is delicate, dainty and aesthetically pleasing. However, the path you take to reach beauty is filled with trial and error, challenges and all manner of beastly things. Scrubbing your face and exfoliating is something we do on a regular basis just to keep the skin clear, but when you really break it down to what you’re actually doing, you’re furiously scrubbing away dead skin in order to make way for new cells.

There’s a certain beastly quality in all people who care about their appearance, whether they’re young, middle-aged, a senior or male or female. We have to pay attention to the beauty inside of us that is just waiting to burst out of your current shell, and in order to break that shell, we need to put in some elbow grease, money and a lot of time.

    beauty and the beast

This is a treatment that is used to improve the look of your skin. It’s usually done with a wire brush or a wheel that is used to remove layers of skin; much like exfoliation. However, the main difference is that microdermabrasion uses much rougher materials and often removes dead skin at an accelerated rate. If you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis; then you may need some sessions of microdermabrasion in order to clear up dead skin cells and rough patches on your skin. If you have certain skin conditions or very delicate skin; then you may want to reconsider microdermabrasion and stick to just a regular soft exfoliator to keep your skin clear.

Just remember that all types of skin need to be exfoliated at some point to keep it looking healthy and smooth. Exfoliation is already seen as quite harsh to some people, but if you don’t exfoliate on a regular basis then you may need to consider microdermabrasion in order to remove large amounts of skin to keep it clear and free of excess oils and impurities.

    Facial Steaming for Beauty

Another fairly harsh-sounding treatment is facial steaming. For clear skin, you should check out these facial steaming devices that essentially blow hot steam into your face to help you clear clogged pores. It also helps to make your skin more comfortable when you apply other facial treatments and skincare products; meaning it’s the perfect addition to your existing skincare regime.

Furthermore, facial steaming enhances blood circulation in your face; improving the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the skin tissue and enhancing your appearance. It can also help to remove toxins from your skin; much like when you sweat during a workout or in a hot bath. This helps to restore balance to your face and ultimately gives you a smooth and glowing complexion.

One of the most rigorous things we can do for beauty is exercise. Aching muscles, sweating and heavy breathing are the three key signs that you’re giving yourself a workout that means something. Regardless of what age or body type you are; exercising will help you maintain a beauty and healthy body, but it has to be assisted with dieting.

As you can see; staying beautiful requires a lot of work. If you can awaken that inner “beast” inside of yourself that can get things done. Then you’re going to achieve those beauty goals a little faster; than if you had remained delicate and patient with your regular beauty regimes.

The Brush Bar: Wash and Dry Makeup Brushes

I love wearing makeup but when it comes down to washing my one million and one brushes it can be a hell of a deal. I’ve tried every method known to wash my brushes and leave them to dry; from using the palm of my hand and laying them to dry on napkins/towel to using the Brush Bar and the Brush Board.

    The Brush Bar

    What is the Brush Bar?

The Brush Bar can be described as a smart tool that allows you to dry your makeup brushes without damaging and misshaping the bristles. It also doubles as an organizing tool for small brushes that can be stored away inside, and a holder for ready to use makeup brushes.
The Brush Bar can hang up to 10 brushes per time to dry. This includes 2 large brushes, 6 medium brushes and 2 small brushes. The Brush bar is made from a sturdy material with a flip to it. The Brush Bar does not open fully but once open the prongs are accessible to be used.
The Brush Bar retails for US$38. It is available in matte black and comes in a velour carrying case.

The Brush Bar: Wash and dry makeup brushes
    The Brush Bar

How to Use the Brush Bar?

    1.     Find the thumb indentation on the brush Bar and POP open the lid.

    2.     Once open FLIP the Brush Bar upside down to allow the prongs to flip out.

    3.     After the prongs flip out, SNAP the Brush Bar shut and place on a flat surface such as the edge of a vanity, sink, desk, counter or any desired area.

    4.     Between each prong PUSH your brushes into them, allowing the bristles to point downward to dry.

The Brush Board: Wash and Dry Makeup Brushes

    What is the Brush Board?

The Brush Board is a makeup brush exfoliator that helps to deep clean between bristles for a quicker clean. The Brush Board is rectangular in length and has a finger size circle for the perfect hold, and two sides with 6 different patterns. Each pattern has their own benefit; the cylinders, pyramids, cone, triangular prism, ridges, and waves.

    The Patterns and Uses

    ·        Cylinders – the cylinder patterns give the beauty tool a gentle and effective clean wash. I use this mainly for eyeshadow brushes.
    ·        Pyramids – this pattern has 4 edges and a point to offers each beauty tool the deepest clean; perfect for foundation brushes.
    ·        Cones – the cone pattern deep cleans as well as comb through bristles to separate for faster drying time.
    ·        Triangular Prism – has 3 edges for a medium scrub; perfect for powder brushes.
    ·        Ridges – this pattern has dual purposes. It can be used as a scrubber and/or scraper.
    ·        Waves – this pattern also serves as a scrubber and scraper but in waves.
The Brush Board Retails for US$28 and comes with a green velour case.

The Brush Bar and Brush Board are perfect tools for keeping makeup tools clean and dry. The Brush Board helps to get out the unnecessary gunk between each bristle leaving makeup brushes clean and smelling good. As for the Brush Bar, it holds brushes securely in place for drying and easy usage. The Brush Bar prongs have a decent grip and it holds any brand brushes. I have tried a variety brand of brushes with different handles and all fit securely in the sizable prong.

    Tips for best usage

    ·        Apply brush cleanser to selected pattern along with a splash of water prior brush cleansing.
    ·        Use a gentle swirling motion or back and forth to cleanse bristles.
    ·        Alternate between the different surface patterns for a more intense deep clean.
    ·        Rinse bristles with warm water while swirling.
    ·        Dry and hang Brush Bar in a dry place after us

    3 Simple Cellulite Busting Tips

We all have to face facts that cellulite happens to the best of us. That doesn’t change the fact, however, that most of us hate it and wish the darn stuff would magically disappear. We all know, however, that sadly it’s just not that easy.
We are inundated with fancy and expensive creams claiming that they can eradicate our orange peel skin within a few weeks. We’ve tried them and they just don’t work. So what next? Is the fight against dimply thighs and bottoms hopeless? Absolutely not. Where expensive creams fail, other more subtle methods prevail, so read on for our cellulite busting tips that actually work.

    Daily Massages & Exfoliation

Body brushing, exfoliation gloves and daily massage are the heart of any cellulite busting regime. Though it may seem like a chore to spend 5 minutes body brushing before a shower or spending 5 minutes in the shower exfoliating your body with an exfoliating mitten, let us assure you, it’s well worth the bother.

Exfoliating, massaging and brushing not only gets rid of dry skin and reveals more youthful, glowing skin, it also works to increase the blood circulation and lymphatic drainage in our bodies. Therefore, investing in a super cheap exfoliating body mitt, body brush or even treating yourself to a full on body massage folsom, is well worth the money. You can even make your own homemade exfoliating lotion with coconut oil and salt, so budget is not an issue. Making sure you are stimulating sufficient oxygen to your body and restoring flexibility to your skin is the best place to start in the struggle against cellulite.

When it comes to truly busting cellulite cardio is king. In a nutshell, the harder you work and the more you sweat, the more fat you’ll burn and the thinner the layer of dimply skin will be in all our typical ‘problem areas’.

Circuit training is one of the top cardio exercises for women looking to firm up those thighs, tums and bums as they offer short bursts of high-intensity exercise, that prove to be much more effective when it comes to burning body fat. That is apparently due to the fact that your body burns carbs when it needs energy but it burns fat during recovery, in order to produce the energy it needs to help your body recover. Therefore shorter bouts of high-intensity exercise prove to be more effective than more long-winded, more relaxed forms of exercise when it comes to smoothing out those ‘softer’ areas that we’d all like to see gone, once and for all.

Chugging those glasses of the good stuff is one of the easiest ways to bust cellulite. Drinking two liters of water a day will keep the skin hydrated and will flush out all the toxins that accumulate from an unhealthy lifestyle. Keeping skin youthful and and fresh all starts with what we put in our bodies and water is the pinnacle daily driving force in achieving the gorgeous skin we all desire.

Tips to Get More Kissable Lips

    kissable lips

Lips are one of a woman’s best features. Men love them, and women love having a pretty full lip to show off in their selfies. Even if you don’t think your lips are particularly impressive, there are lots of things you can do to make them look more luscious and imminently more kissable, so that no one will be able to resist you.

Check out these tips to get more kissable lips:

    Drink More Water

Lips need a lot of moisture if they’re going to look as plump and healthy as they should, which is why you should drink lots of water throughout the day to keep them hydrated. Being well-hydrated will also plump up and improve the appearance of your skin.

    Lots of Lip Smacker

Unfortunately, the skin on our lips is quite thin, and it doesn’t benefit from any natural oils like other parts of the body, so it really is essential, if you want to have smooth, plump lips, that you apply moisture in the form of your favorite lip smacker on a regular basis. Lip balms that contain hydrating ingredients like coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax are best.

    Exfoliate Regularly

Because the skin on the lips is quite thin, you shouldn’t over exfoliate, but you should make an effort to get rid of dead skin at least once or twice a week, or if your lips are particularly sensitive, whenever you notice a real need to do so. Dead skin will start to flake if it isn’t removed and no one ever wanted to kiss horribly flaky lips.

    Apply SPF

Again, because the skin on the lips is thin and sensitive, it’s really important that you protect them by applying an SPF lip moisturizer daily. Even if it isn’t a sunny day, you still need to do this.

    Apply a Hydrating Lipstick

If you want your lips to really look their best, steer clear of matte lipsticks which will dry out your lips and make them look dull and lifeless. Instead, find a great hydrating lipstick in your signature color and use that instead. If you must use a matte lipstick, at least a apply a layer or two of lip balm before you apply your lipstick.

    Plump it Up

Lips that look naturally plump are so much more inviting than the lips, but you don’t have to have naturally plump lips to create the effect! Just apply a lip plumping gloss over your lipstick for a quick boost.

    Take Care of Your Teeth

There’s little point making your lips look good if you don’t also take care of your teeth. After all, your lips look imminently more kissable when you smile, and if your teeth aren’t the best, that could ruin the effect.

If your teeth are missing or in really bad shape, consider getting the best dental implants you can afford, to transform your smile, otherwise, just doing the basics, like brushing and flossing regularly and avoiding excess sugar should be enough.

Do you have amazingly kissable lips? What are your top tips for creating lips that no man or woman can resist?

7 Simple Beauty Fixes To See You Through Summer

When you love beauty; trying new treatments, looking and feeling good there’s always a buzz in the air as soon as summer comes around. Of course, we all love the warmer months, longer days and lighter nights but when it comes to beauty, summer offers us something else entirely. We get to shake up our hairstyles, go breezy with the makeup, and have fabulous treatments that make our beauty routines even easier.

If you’re wondering what treatments you should be trying to get yourself summer beauty ready, or what steps you should take to feel your more beautiful self, here are seven that you do not want to miss.

    1. Hydrating Facial

The first thing that you’re going to want to do is to focus on your skin. You may not notice it at first, but as soon as the weather warms up, we all get just that little bit more dehydrated in life. So not only do you have to drink more water during the summer months to keep your body happy and healthy, you have to pay a little more attention to your skin. Keeping up with your moisturizing routine is always good, but you might want to go that little bit further and apply a homemade hydrating face mask every week, just to make sure your skin is getting the care it needs.

    2. Waxing

Even if you manage to go every single winter without shaving your legs (lucky you!), come summer, it’s one of those every other daily chore, or sometimes daily) that we all hate. But, if you have super fast growing hair or dark hair, you might want to rethink that daily shower situation and opt for monthly waxes instead. If you get the right therapist, you’re going to walk away with super smooth legs and baby-soft skin.

    3. Exfoliating

One way to help with that hair situation is to make sure that you exfoliate. It may not be something that you prioritize, at least when it comes to your body anyway, but during the summer months, it can be a beauty savior. When you exfoliate your body, you get rid of dead skin cells that can make your skin look dry and dull. You’re also ensuring that your wax lasts that little bit longer and the same goes for your tan – natural or otherwise. So, whether you choose to exfoliate with or without a scrub, you’re going to want to do this once or twice a week so benefits from healthy skin.

    4. Hair Cut

Then there’s that all-important summer trim to think about. After winter, we can often be left with dry, dull looking locks. To make sure that they shine in time for winter, you’re not only going to want to up your conditioning and treatment game; you need to get all those dead and dry ends snipped off. Whether you opt for that simple trim or a complete restyle, you’ll feel like an entirely different person by the time you step out of the salon this summer.

    5. Teeth Whitening

We all want a smile that we’re proud of. As a teen, if you went through that awkward, painful stage of wearing braces, you didn’t just do that to let your teeth go as you grow. Oh no. Especially if you’ve had braces regularly. Instead, you’re going to want to make sure that you not only keep on top of your oral health but that your teeth shine nice and white too. Whether you opt for professional whitening or use the incredible invention of charcoal toothpaste to get your smile up to scratch, summer is the perfect time to do it.

    6. Spray Tan

When the weather warms up, and we all start to wear lighter layers and shorter lengths, we all want a nice tan to show off. You might not be hitting the beach anytime soon, but there are no reasons that you can’t look like you have. So, head to the salon and book in for a spray tan. That way, when you are wearing shorts and shorter tops, you’ll feel beach ready already.

    7. Micro-blading

Isn’t it the dream to have flawless makeup all day, every day? If only we could wake up with a full face and get on with our day, it would save us a lot of time, right? Well, there is a kinda way that you can. Semi-permanent makeup solutions, like micro-blading, give you beautiful eyebrows from the second you wake up. So if you want to go on vacation completely makeup free and still feel good, micro-blading is the answer.

Have fun with your summer beauty fixes.

Spring Skin Care Routines For All Skin Types

Spring is a great time for your skin. The weather isn’t as hot as summer or as cold as winter, and the air has just the perfect humidity that you need to keep your skin refreshed. However, this doesn’t mean that you can totally let yourself go. There are some skin care routines that you can employ this spring to ensure your skin is radiant no matter your skin type. Let’s look at some tips for maintaining refreshing skin this spring.

    spring and your skin

Give yourself a HydraFacial: Most of the work your beauty your skin derives is from hydration. Therefore, health professional’s advice that you drink a lot of water. It makes your skin supple and receptive to the skincare products that you are using. When you get a HydraFacial treatment, it combines exfoliation, hydration and cleansing of the skin. It also helps to provide your skin with the antioxidants that it needs as well as peptides. HydraFacial is essential because they brighten and provide moisture to the skin, and this creates a natural glowing effect.
Exfoliate from time to time: Having great skin is one thing, but you also need to take some time out to manage the skin from time to time. You need to exfoliate daily to provide your skin the refreshing vibe it needs. It is important to note that daily exfoliants are different from regular exfoliants. A regular exfoliating treatment would be too harsh to use daily. However, daily exfoliating treatments would help your skin to maintain a natural glow. Also, to keep your skin youthful you can use a collagen face cream.
Microdermabrasion helps: Microdermabrasion treatments help a lot to remove the dull skin on your body. Dead skin cells are eliminated, and the skin cells underneath are left to reveal lighter and more refreshed skin. This would add to a further glow, and would make your skin look as radiant as ever. After the procedure, you have to really hydrate the skin.
Eat well, and get a diet with oils and fats: Your skin is the outer reflection of whatever is going on inside your body. Eating a good diet would supply your skin with the vitamins and minerals it needs to maintain a glow. Oils and fats help to feed the hypodermics, which is the fat layer of the human skin, and this makes your skin glow like never. It is also important to drink a lot of water.
Always wash your face before bed: Don’t forget to wash off your makeup before you go to bed. Wash with warm water even if you had no makeup before and wipe with a clean towel.
Taking these steps would ensure your skin is fresher than ever this spring.

A-List Inspiration for No Makeup Look

Smokey-glittery-way-too-contoured-baked-look is way gone and it’s time for the no makeup look to take dominance. While we were seeing a chunk of no-makeup look walking the streets back in 2015 and 2016, we’ve somehow replaced it for other trends for a second even though we’ve all known that the natural vibe is what we’ll be coming back to.

    Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant Review

    Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant
The Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant seems like a mixture of Vaseline and white sugar finely blended and mixed together. The Maracuja Lip Exfoliant is said to contain raw sugar granules that are suspended in a soothing balmy elixir of antioxidants and vitamin C.

Sometimes my lips can get extremely dry due to the heat from the sun and not enough intake of water. At this point in time, my lips would appear chapped to the point where the dead skin is actually peeling off. With this lip problem that I have, I decided to the purchase the Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant.

The product packaging does not have any instructions on how to use, but since I am not new to lip exfoliant I stick to using the usual procedure. Well it all boils down to how dry/chap my lip is:
Extremely dry: I would wet my lips prior and apply the Tarte Maracuja Lip exfoliant to my lips and let it sit for a while then I would massage it in and wipe away with a wet towel.

Dry: I would damp my lips with water then proceed to apply the product to my lips then I massage the product with my fingers tips or a soft toothbrush.

The Tarte Maracuja Lip Exfoliant is a thick sugary scrub made especially for exfoliating the lips. For soft, moisturizing lips a little bit of the product goes a long way. When my lips are extremely dry and chapped, I find that the product does not really do a great job at exfoliating. Instead, it leaves dead skin hanging from the lips meanwhile other parts of the lips feel soft. I remember I had to use small size scissors to cut/remove the hanging skin.

If the Maracuja Lip Exfoliant sugary ingredient would melt off the dead skin area and prevent my lips from bleeding then this product would be an A+. It just doesn’t buff off the dead skin cells efficiently.

Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask Review

Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing

Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing

The Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask works as a detox and exfoliate the skin. After the first use, you will notice how soft and smooth your skin feels. The activated charcoal in this product helps to absorb oil and remove impurities without over-drying the skin. The black sugar which is blended together with the charcoal helps to exfoliate dead, dry, flaky skin cells which results in a softer, brighter skin tone.

Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask should be used on a damp clean face. When applying the product to the skin you will realize that the sugar granules are of a reasonable size. The fragrance of the product smells very sweet but it is not harsh.

The polishing mask can be left on the face from anywhere between 5-20 mins. depending on the sensitivity of one’s skin. If you choose not to use the product as a mask you can simply massage it into the skin and scrub it away with water. The polishing mask has a warming effect when applied to the skin.

You will find that the lid doesn’t close properly after usage since the sugar accumulates the opening of the packaging. This will allow air to get in which can be unhygienic and allow the product to dry out faster and the sugar to harden. This can be prevented by using a q-tip to clear the opening of the product packaging from the accumulated sugar.

Freeman Charcoal and Black Sugar Polishing Mask do not give the feeling of a mud mask that tightens as it dries. What it does is; it draws the impurities from within the skin giving it a cleaner and more refreshing look.
