Save Your Winter Skin With These Tricks

winter skin care tricks

The temperature is dropping, which means that your skin is going to be looking drier and flakier than it ever has before. It’s not because your skin is generally dry, either. The cold changes everything, and just like the frost that rests on the grass every morning, your skin will feel that chill permeating it. The best thing that you can do is to try and switch up your skincare routine to ensure that your skin doesn’t suffer because of the chill.

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean that you have to deal with skincare problems! There is plenty that you can do to keep your skin supple, fresh and moisturized throughout the cold months. This will enable you to look as glowing and dewy as ever before. Let’s take a look at some tricks to help you to save your skin this winter.

  1. Moisturizing has to be a priority this season. The cold weather is one thing, but it’s the contrast between the indoor heat and the outdoor cold that’s often a problem. So, your skin is going to be crying out for skin brightening serum and moisturizer! Find one that compliments your skin type and opts for the kindest for your skin.
  2. Toner is not a priority – believe us when we say that! You can keep it hidden until the summer months when toner is going to be great for your skin. Toner can dry it out during the winter, so it’s not what you need!
  3. It’s okay to scrutinize labels – and be snobby about it! Labels when it comes to skincare can give you an idea of the quality of the products you’ve paid for and they’ll also confirm whether the product has alcohol or not. You want the alcohol-free stuff in the winter so that your skin can gain the biggest benefits.
  4. Try not to exfoliate too much when it’s the winter months. You want to get the dead skin off, but you don’t want to make your skin irritated. Exfoliate once a week instead and you keep your skin fresh!
  5. When you wash your face in the morning, use only water. In the evening, use the cleanser. If you use too much soap and too many products, you can find it too hard to keep your skin protected against the cold weather. When you are using cleanser day and night, you can find your skin dries out and becomes sore faster than you expected. This will not feel great for you in the long run and it will mean that you are dealing with patchy skin instead of your usual glow!

The cold weather can really affect your skin, but as long as you look after it, your skin can really benefit and stay beautiful this winter. Take your time to adjust your routine, and go with the flow of the temperature outside.
