Pamper Yourself With A Nighttime Routine

So we think of babies as being the only people who need a nighttime routine, otherwise, they’ll never settle down! However, the same kind of rules applies to us as adults as well, especially for our physical health. If you’re on your way to becoming a little better at keeping yourself in good nick, try out a routine before bed. It’s healthy, and can make you happy, and makes your sleep quality feel a lot better. A little self-care goes a long way, and one of the best ways to easily incorporate it into your routine is to make yourself a nighttime routine if you’re worried about that. Here are a few tips on making one designed for you.

Set Up a Day Before

If you’re sleepy, you’re not going to want to do anything else other than tucking yourself up into bed and then promptly falling into a deep sleep. This means you need to prepare everything before you reach that lethargic state; which also means you get a little longer in bed on the other side of the night if you’re the kind of person who desperately needs those extra five minutes!

Pack yourself a lunch and put it in the fridge, pick out your outfit for the morning at work, and make sure all your blouses and skirts are already ironed. Realsimple.com has a checklist if you need a reminder. Not only does it get you into more productive habits for yourself, it means you aren’t setting an earlier impossible alarm.

Set Yourself Some Alarms

This works for both waking and up and getting yourself into bed at night. Having a healthy sleeping schedule gives us more energy throughout the day, and keeps our mental health in good nick as well.

If you have an alarm about an hour before bed, you can disconnect yourself from the TV or your work and settle yourself into a wind down the hour. When you’re turning off the artificial lights and looking to get a little darker in your room, your brain’s going to produce more melatonin to help you sleep better. It’s also a lot healthier for your eyes!

Don’t Forget Your Feet!

So you’ve taken care of the rest of you, and now it’s time to rest those poor aching feet that have been at work all day. Try out some massaging moves on your toes and arches to try and alleviate any pain you may be experiencing from a rough day in retail. Then grab yourself a pair of slippers from Glerups.com and pop down on the sofa with a good glass of milk or some decaffeinated tea; maybe even a hot chocolate indulgence.

You can do a little more pampering for your nighttime routine in terms of body lotions and be exfoliating to make yourself feel a little lighter, but a good bath at the end of the day is more of a luxury than a necessity. No more struggling to switch your brain off; get a good night’s kip!
