How to Deal with Stubborn Fat

It can be very frustrating to try to remove stubborn areas of fat on your body, especially if it feels as though you have done everything you can already. Perhaps you just feel as though you should give up and live with those areas, and that is certainly one option. However, since fat can be detrimental to your physical health and it can affect your mental health and sense of wellbeing, it’s a good idea to try to remove or reduce it as much as possible. Here are some suggestions you might not have tried yet.

diet, stubborn fat

A Healthy Diet

One of the first things you can do when it comes to reducing or eliminating stubborn fat on your body is to look at your diet. Is it a healthy one? If not, it’s time to make some changes because it could be this that is thwarting your efforts. No matter what else you do, you may find that the areas of fat you dislike so much are being stubborn due to the food (and potentially drink) you’re consuming.

Try to include a lot more wholegrains, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins in your diet, but don’t change everything all at once. If you’re used to eating fast food, takeout, chocolate, and other items that are bad for you, suddenly no longer including them in your diet could be bad for you, even if it seems like the right thing to do. You’ll start to crave what you’re missing, and you could find you can no longer resist and eat a lot more of the bad food than you normally would. Instead, take things slowly and gradually make healthy changes so you can maintain those changes for the long term.

Body Sculpting

Body sculpting is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that many people find is excellent when it comes to dealing with stubborn fat. By using lasers, the body can be contoured in just the way you want, and so if you have specific areas of stubborn fat, such as your thighs or back, you can use body sculpting to reduce the appearance of that fat and create the shape you wanted all along.

You’ll need more than one session to see the results, but if you are happy to create time in your diary for this, then it’s certainly worth at least speaking to the experts about it, and then ideally booking an appointment. Body sculpting should work alongside the other items we have included on this list for the best results.

Get Enough Rest

Did you know that not sleeping well enough can make it harder to lose weight? It might be that the stubborn fat you want to reduce is there because you’re going to bed too late and getting up too early or not sleeping deeply enough when you do go to bed (even if you’re technically sleeping for a long enough time).

The reason for this is that lack of sleep can disrupt your body’s hormones, including those that make your metabolism work fast enough to remove fat. This makes it very hard to lose weight. Ensure you sleep well, and you should find your weight – and the stubborn fat left behind – is easier to reduce.
