When it comes to beauty, it’s often natural for us to assume that there are certain things you do at home, like your makeup in the morning, and then certain things that you go to the salon for, like your wax. But, it doesn’t always have to be so black and white. There doesn’t always have to be an unspoken rule that some things are to be done at home, while others must be performed by a professional. Although we all know that it makes sense to do certain things that way, not everything has to fit the mold. So if you’re looking to shake up your beauty routine and let yourself feel more pampered at home, here are five treatments to try yourself.
One of the major things that a lot of us head into the salon for, is a facial. But you may not always have to have this done by an expert alone. Because you can easily carry out a DIY facial! Not only are there some incredible masks out on the market at the moment, but you can even make them yourself. Simple foods like greek yogurt and avocado can make great face masks if you’re willing to mix them up yourself and give them a try.
We also tend to think that is we want to rejuvenate our skin with a peel, that it should be done in-salon. While for some techniques that may be the case, it’s not always going to be. Because at-home microdermabrasion can be relatively easy to do. Using the right products and not doing it too often, you can ensure that your skin looks more radiant and feels so much healthier, by using tried and tested (and trusted) at-home peel products.
But microdermabrasion isn’t the only kind of at-home peel you could work with. You can also work with a foot soak that kind of does the same thing. We all tend to get dry, hard skin on our feet – it’s what everyday life and a lot of walking do to us, but we don’t always make a conscious effort to do something about it. Yet with a simple foot peel product, or DIY version, you can have soft and smooth feet going forward.
Do you ever wish your teeth were as white as possible? If so, then you’re definitely going to want to consider working with an at-home teeth whitening product. You can find some that are great for brushing and improving the color over time (or keeping your teeth bright white), and some kits that can be used to bring your teeth up a shade or a few. Both are easy and great to do at home.
Finally, you’ve also got your hair to think about. If you tend to love getting a treatment every time you’re at the salon, then you may find that your hair is always in great condition. But it doesn’t always have to be done in-salon. Because there are some incredible hair masks you can tailor to the condition of your hair, or even work in something like coconut oil as a great all-rounder.
