Braving the Flat Iron to Create Beautifully Straight Hair

Straight hair is something that a lot of women want to achieve, but few are ready to brave the flat irons that are required to achieve the effect. Whether you’re worried about scarring yourself or damaging your hair, there are many ways to brave them and get over your worries.

    Buy the Right Flat Iron

The first thing to consider is what flat iron to buy. Smaller flat irons are better for when you have less hair, and larger flat irons are suitable for thicker, coarser or curlier hair. The general is that the shorter your hair, the thinner the iron and vice versa. Next, make sure you understand what type of flat iron you should use. There are ceramic, titanium and tourmaline ones. Take a look at Hair Straightener Studio for some fantastic reviews on all types of flat irons. There are plenty of tips, advice, and tidbits of information that you can follow in order to get the best flat iron for your money. Just remember to invest in one that suits your needs and budget.

    Always Prepare Your Hair

To avoid damaging your hair, make sure you apply some kind of heat protecting cream, spray or serum over the area before you style it. This will prevent the heat from damaging your hair and causing it to break or split under the pressure. You can also use smoothing styling creams to ensure that you get straight strands of hair after using the flat iron.

    Watch the Temperature

A general rule of thumb is to never go above 365°F. Hair tends to burn when you raise it to over 450°F. Depending on the flat iron that you purchase, the maximum temperature will probably go fairly high. Just remember to keep it between 300°F and 325°F to ensure a minimal chance of damaging your hair, and raise it no higher than 365°F to ensure better straightening.

    Section Your Hair

Make sure you get some clips and section your hair before you straighten it. It will help you keep track of the entire styling process and guarantees you won’t miss any spots. This will also allow you to start straightening at the root of the hair instead of starting mid-way or at the ends. This will help you achieve that flawless straight-haired look that you want. Be careful not to put the flat iron too close to your scalp or else you will burn yourself, especially if you’re new to straightening.

Work Slowly, but Not Too Slowly

One of the most important things to remember is the speed at which you pull the flat iron. If you go too slowly then you’re going to form ridges in your hair and it could cause damage. If you go too fast while being too firm with your grip then you might pull hairs out. Go steady and use fluid motions to straighten your hair. This will take a bit of practice, so keep at it and develop your own technique.

The Luma Hair Straightening Brush is a fast and easy tool that can be used to brush and straighten the hair. The Luma Brush has protective bristles that will prevent your scalp from being burnt by heat. The Straightening Brush should only be used on dry brushed hair. For best result part hair in small sections and work the Luma Hair Brush through.

The Luma Hair Brush has a Unique 3D Ceramic Surface that allows the bristles to heat up to 185c/ 365 f and stays constant for the duration of use. When using the Luma hair brush you do not have to worry that the brush might get cold or too hot during use as the heat stays constant.

    How to Use

Plug the Luma Hair Brush into an electric socket and wait for a red display light to appear. The red display light will turn green which indicates that the Luma Brush is hot and ready to be used. For best results ensure that your hair is dry, in sections and already brush to get rid of tangles before applying the Luma Brush to hair.

Proceed to brush the hair slowly by using the Luma Brush from roots to ends in a pulling motion. Use the Luma Brush by pulling the hair deep into the inner bristle areas of the Luma Brush for an even straighter hair pattern.

    My Thoughts

The Luma Hair Brush is convenient and easy to use. After a wash day, I gentle dry and brush my hair. I then put it in 4 sections preferably and proceed to brush and straighten my hair with the Luma Brush. I have thick coarse hair and with the Luma Brush my hair does not get bone straight but it is a lot easier to manage as my curls do not clump tightly after using.

    Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush Review

The following post contains PR samples, and affiliate links, which means this blog makes a small commission through clicks and purchases (at no additional cost to you).

    Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush

I am now able to massage my scalp without having someone to do it for me all the time. With the rejuvenating scalp massager, I simply slip a battery in and it automatically massages my scalp where ever I place it on my head. I would consider my scalp to be super sensitive, dry and have a problematic area of baldness from wearing my headbands too tight whenever I style my hair in a high puff. When using the rejuvenating scalp massager, I tend to run the scalp massager over my bald spot area more and longer than the other areas of my head. Scalp massages help to promote hair growth; therefore, I prefer to get scalp massages frequently.

Benefits of using the Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush
    ·        It helps to promote hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp
    ·        It can be used while in the shower
    ·        It helps to control build up on the scalp, controls dandruff and exfoliate the scalp which results in clean and healthier hair.
    ·        It is easy to use
    ·        Created for all hair types

    ·        Adults and kids can enjoy the benefits of the hair tool

    How to Use
To insert the battery, twist the handle from the lock position to open, separate the bristle head from the device, open the battery compartment with a screwdriver (included). Insert your battery whether rechargeable or regular batteries. I prefer to use rechargeable batteries as they last way longer. Snap back on the bristle head, place it in the lock position and get ready to use.

Power up the device, you can choose to lather the hair with shampoo, condition or just wet with water; rest the device on the scalp and gently rub the soft rubber tips on the scalp.

    How to Clean

Wipe the base and bristles with a clean, dry cloth.

Key Tips: The Scalp massager should not be submerged in water. It is also safe to be used in the shower; it can be kept in the shower for better reach when ready to be used.

    Verdict

The Scalp Massager is the perfect tool to implement in hair wash days as it helps to deep clean, exfoliate and massage the scalp. I use the Scalp Massaging Shampoo Brush on my hair wash day and when I need a good scalp massage or to be relieved from an itchy scalp. It comes in very handy, it gives this relaxing feeling on the scalp, I love the portability of the device and it is easy to use.

Hair Raising Ideas for Luscious Locks

We all have parts of our bodies that we aren’t happy with which we occasionally have to make huge efforts with just to look “normal” and for some its hair. It can start when you’re a toddler with thick, extremely curly, blonde curls that have to be brushed into submission by an overzealous mother every night and plaited; if she can get you to stand still for long enough. Eventually, she’ll say she’s had enough and have said curls lopped off into a haircut akin to Julie Andrews in Sound of Music including the too short fringe. Trouble is, those curls will still want to stick out. Growing up, we’ll go through various styles from a feather cut, a bob, a purdey cut, a lob and through it all will continue the battle with our unruly hair.
