Skincare: Fighting The First Signs Of Aging

It’s fair to say that the entire beauty industry is somewhat obsessed with youth. There are so many products, techniques, and treatments designed to combat the dreaded facial wrinkles that it can be nigh-on impossible to know where to even start.

In this youth-obsessed world, there is a phrase that is repeated time and again when it comes to skin aging: prevention is better than cure. That seems to make sense; get a jump on the problem and your skin will be all the better for it.

signs of aging

However, the sad reality is that… aging happens. No matter how wonderful a skincare regime you manage to put together, your skin will eventually begin to show signs of having seen the passage of a few years. The signs of aging tend to develop slowly; as you see your face every day, you might not even notice that they’re happening until they are quite advanced. That’s why it’s vital to be able to recognize the early signs of aging– and learn how to fight back against them.

Crows’ Feet

“Crows’ feet” is the colloquial terms for lines around the corners of your eyes. They are caused by making expressions; smiling, in particular, causes crow’s feet to form. They can cause your eyes to look more tired even when you’ve had a full night’s sleep.

Fighting crow’s feet is easier said than done. As they are predominantly expression lines, there’s little you can do to outright banish them from your life– even Botox will only temporarily freeze the problem. The best way to fight back is with a good moisturizing cream designed specifically for your eyes; apply twice a day and allow to sink in before applying makeup.

Fine Lines

As your skin begins to lose elasticity, you’re more likely to experience fine lines on your skin. These aren’t deep, ingrained wrinkles; just small lines where your skin isn’t quite able to bounce right back into place.

Fighting back against these lines means replacing the elasticity that has been lost. The best way to do this is by introducing a marine collagen powder into your supplement regime. Replacing the lost collagen should help your skin remain firmer and smoother for longer.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines are the less-than-pleasant term for expression lines that develop down the side of your nose and mouth. Like crow’s feet, there’s little you can do to reduce them when they begin to form; they are the product of an expressive face.

However, your sleeping habits may also partially be to blame. Most people have marionette lines that are deeper on one side of their face than the other; the deeper side tends to be the side of their face they press against the pillow while sleeping. A wrinkle-preventing pillow can help lessen this problem, letting you — and your face — sleep easy.

So when you spot the first signs of aging, take action and do what you can to keep your skin looking as good as possible, for as long as possible.
