Daydream Traveler? 4 Reasons Why you should go Traveling, Right Now!

Do you find yourself staring out of the window at work, dreaming of all the places you’d love to visit, all the amazing experiences you want to have and all the adventures you should be right in the middle of? If you’re a daydream traveler and are a little cautious about taking the plunge and actually heading abroad then, you’re not alone!

We all put our dreams off because we’re worried that we won’t succeed, or that our expectations won’t be met, and we worry everything will have been a waste and that we were wrong. But I’m here to tell you that traveling the world is something that everyone should experience and those who have been there and done that – never regret it. Here you’ll find 4 reasons why you should follow your dreams and go traveling right now.

daydream traveler, dreams

But before you jump on that plane – you need to get yourself some good travel insurance. A good policy should cover everything from lost luggage to medical cover and even medical evacuation insurance. You should never travel without it.

Now, back to the list.

Your confidence will soar

You might the quietest person in the office or the person everyone looks to for a good time. Whoever you are, traveling will push your confidence to heights you never knew possible, why? Because when you’re haggling for beautiful objects in a market, navigating your way through a strange village, holding on for dear life as you head up a mountain on a rickety bus, trying new foods and meeting people from every walk of life – you leave your comfort zones behind. And if you can find your way back to your accommodation in the pouring rain, with no money and no language skills in a foreign country, then you can achieve anything.

Friends for life

It sounds cliché – but traveling really does connect you to people that will be staying in your life long after your adventure is over. You might worry that you’ll be lonely on the road, but that’s simply not the case. You’ll always find likeminded people who are hoping to find themselves and make new friends along the way. The beautiful thing about traveling is that if you don’t like someone you’ve become acquainted with, then you can simply go in the other direction. It’s that simple.

You’ll be making incredible connections with people when you travel, and that could mean love or lust. Sitting and watching the sunrise with someone you’ve fallen for? Incredible.

Opportunities to give back

We all try to do our bit to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Whether it’s doing a sponsored walk, or simply putting our spare change in a collection box. But when you’re on the road, you have the opportunity to give back to communities and people who literally have nothing. Whether it’s helping to build a school or even a water pump, helping to nurse endangered animals in a wildlife preserve – you’ll soon find that it’s not about a new profile picture. It’s about giving back.

Always remember to follow your dreams.

Great post! I’d love to see a post about how to make friends while traveling. Although I travel a fair amount, I haven’t made any friends on these trips. I love meeting people and making new friends, but for some reason I’ve never felt like I really had the opportunity to develop a friendship with people abroad. Part of this may be because I pretty much always travel with family or with my boyfriend, but I would love your tips.

Oh goodness if this doesn’t give you a travel bug I don’t know what will. I’d love to go travelling but with 2 little ones it’s not in the cards just yet. Hoping once older me and my husband can go around the world! Definitely love the point about it gaining confidence to yourself, I totally agree and think that’s one of the main reasons I want too! X

We really don’t need any more reasons to go travelling. But giving back is a great reason none the less. On our next trip we’d love to do some volunteering or even do a sponsored challenge to support a charity close to us. It’s important to give back when you can 🙂
