NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review and Swatches

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream is neither a lipstick nor a lip gloss but it was made for the lips. This soft matte lip cream goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish.

I have different experiences wearing the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. I first purchased a set from NYX Cosmetics Official website and upon my first use of the soft matte lip cream it was next to dry from the tube, it just wasn't creamy enough. I later researched for some swatches on the internet to see the difference and what pulled up from the internet search had a creamier consistency. I messaged NYX Cosmetics right away and they sent out a new set of soft matte lip cream to me. Upon receiving these sets I tried them instantly and it was way much creamier than the first set that I had purchased. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream colours are so pretty, you would want to see yourself wearing them.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
The soft matte lip cream is packaged in a plastic tube with a doe foot applicator. Each shade of the soft matte lip cream takes the shade of the packaging. The product also came shrink wrapped!

I have seven (7) of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in my possession and I am wanting to collect the entire shade. The colours are beautiful and for a matte finish it does not feel drying on the lips. The Soft Matte Lip Cream goes on smooth, it smells really great and its super pigmented. It can be applied directly over lips, or over lipstick to suite your taste.

Shades that I have includes:
1.     Transylvania - matte deep violet
2.     Copenhagen - matte rich plum
3.     Buenos Aires - soft coral
4.     San Paulo - plummy pink
5.     Abu Dhabi - deep rose beige
6.     Addis Ababa - bright fuschia
7.     Instanbul - clean pink
Swatches From L-R Transylvania, Copenhagen, Buenos Aires, San Paulo, Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa and Instanbul
·         highly pigmented, even on the first swatch
·         true matte finish that doesn't smudge throughout the day
·         doesn't dry out lips
·         creamy texture once applied
·         long-lasting
·         the colour of the product takes the colour of the tube
·         budget friendly price (inexpensive)
·         more than ten (10) colours to choose from

·         Some shades are hard to get since they sell out really fast for e.g. Transylvania and Copenhagen
·         It has a sweet scent that might be overbearing for some but the scent wears off once applied
·         Product can be hard to find in some stores/places.
·         The names use to identify each colors are not printed directly on the packaging, instead it is printed on a sticker that can be easily removed.

I would definitely repurchase these products and stock up on all the other colours. NYX Soft Matte cream are inexpensive and are of good quality.

What shade is your favorite?
How much do you own?
What time of the day do you wear these lip creams?

Ben Nye Final Seal Review

I love wearing makeup but on bright sunny days I tend to perspire a lot. My face gets sweaty (sweat beads), especially my t-zone area that tends to become oily resulting my finished makeup look to become cakey. I normally use blotting paper, it helps but I prefer if my makeup would just stay put without moving. Eventually a runny, blotchy, cakey makeup look will make you lose your self - confidence.

I have heard a lot about Ben Nye Final Seal before I decided to purchase and it was highly recommended by Makeup Artist as well as YouTube Beauty Vloggers.

The Ben Nye Final Seal has this refreshing mint fragrance similar to the mouth rinse Listerine.  After a few shots of the Ben Nye Final Seal mist over the face the mint scent fades away. Ben Nye Final Seal was intended for people who perspire a lot to help hold their makeup in place.

The Ben Nye Final Seal has a sticky consistency, so it must be applied to any finished makeup look or over any moisturized and primed face for a more smudge free and water resistant finish. It is also recommended that the Ben Nye Final Seal should be used before applying mascara as this can ruin your mascara.

I personally like to apply the Ben Nye Final Seal after I apply my primer and buff it into my skin with a soft bristle brush, by doing this it help my makeup to last much longer and it helps to keep my makeup looking matte much longer.

How to Depot Lipsticks without Heat for Melting

If you have a bunch of lipstick and you find it difficult to travel with all at once then you should consider to depot your lipstick into a palette. This technique is mostly done by makeup freelancers that have to travel with beauty items to their clients on a day-to-day basis. To depot lipsticks makes it more easier for them as they can travel much lighter and see the shade of lipsticks in just one glance rather than opening and closing lipstick lids. If you have broken lipstick and you wish to save them then this method is just for you. To depot lipstick is safe and easy. You can use heat to melt your lipstick but it is not highly recommended. Melting lipstick can alter the formula of the lipstick, especially if it’s a glossy, glitter or matte lipstick. Matte lipsticks are more durable in heat but the pigment separate and can settle at the bottom of the palette wells.

To Depot Lipstick without heat you will need the following items:
  • Lipstick
  • Palette (MAC Pro Palette)
  •  Surface Pro or metal plate
  •  Spatula
  • Q-tips
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Gloves
Step 1: Ensure that your items use in this processed is sanitized
Step 2: Take your lipstick of choice and scroll it up and use the spatula to cut it off from the base of the tube onto your Surface pro or metal plate.
Step 3: Use your spatula and remove what is left from the base of the lipstick and place it into your palette well, if the lipstick is very hard then you can crush it out on the Surface pro/metal plate before placing it into the palette wells.
Step 4: Fill and spread the lipstick in the wells evenly or until satisfied.
Step 5: Take the lipstick tip that was cut off from Step 2 and place it back into the tube.
Step 6: Repeat process until all the wells are completely filled.
Step 7: Use the q-tips along with the rubbing alcohol to clean up the areas around the lipstick wells.

All of the lipstick will not hold in one well, so be sure to cut the lipstick in a reasonable size to be able to fit into the palette wells. You can take the lipstick from the top if you prefer but you might lose the angle or shape of the lipstick if you do not cut in the angle as how it first came. You might be amazed by the amount of lipstick that is at the bottom of the tube which can also be difficult to use when the lipstick is almost near to the tube and looks like a stub.

If you are looking for that smooth finish you can leave your palette in a warm environment and allow the lipsticks to soften for a while but do not apply too much heat or the palette will become messy. This can be more time consuming but a lot safer than applying direct heat by using a spoon.

Advantages of not using heat to melt lipstick
  • It does not ruin the quality of your lipstick
  • It does not ruin the container
  • And you do not need to use fire
  • Less work
  •   Not neat enough
  • Time consuming
